Izzy's Brooklyn Smokehouse reviews
16I spent $74 on my food alone and it wasn’t much but not worth it. Afterwards I just thought of the good food I could’ve had with that money. The guy at the register wasn’t friendly or anything like that but maybe that’s not really their focus. If your looking for Kosher BBQ specifically it’s a good place. I just wanted really good bbq and didn’t measure up for me.
Kosher BBQ in the heart of Jewish Brooklyn. Did not meet my high expectations. Ribs were tender, but bland. Lukewarm. Beef tacos very good but small and only two. Fries excellent. Expensive.
Kosher smoked meat restaurant in the Jewish quarter.
Fresh, delicious, we got there following Gidi and Aharoni's plan.
Went here last week to try this place. Personally, not a fan. The only good thing is the meat is tender. The ambiance and crowd was a turnoff. Can't enjoy our meal when people constantly harassing you for your table. Their sauce is too sweet and everything is overpriced. The mashed was terrible, very watery and gritty.
A high level smokehouse!
Delicious food, great service, I have tried most of the menu and I can recommend my top three must have, burnt ends, smoked fried chicken sandwich and the pastrami brisket, Dino ribs - overrated.
Highly recommend all the meat. We ordered the lamb ribs, burned ends, wings, and pastrami. Every entree comes with pickles and red cabbage. Everything was ready in ten minutes. It was all licking my fingers delicious! The best in my opinion was the lamb ribs. Interesting options for local beer. I added a photo of what i got, it had a tropical flavor that i enjoyed greatly. The place is small, only 4 tables (seats 18) and a few outdoor as well. We came at 4: 30 and by 5 the line was almost out the door and no seating available. Definitely go early if you want to sit down. Husbands favorite was the pastrami, which came with a horseradish mayo and mustard! We definitely will eat here again! Great food!
A must try when you’re in the area. The brisket and ribs melt in your mouth. I recommend coming here with a friend and ordering few things off the menu and sharing them that way you get to enjoy a little bit of everything
I always buy my chicken burrito so tasty and the manager is very polite if you have anything wrong with your order he fixed me Gildardo been eating there and take out so tasty and nice place they have the party room next door thank you Izzy's my place to dine in or take out.
Just one of the best meats I’ve ever had.
No doubt it’s the best kosher meat I’ve had.
The brisket sandwich was really good but why are the prices SO expensive?
It’s ridiculous.
$50 for sandwich and soda
Just because its kosher doesn’t mean you should over price it like that.
Decent BBQ, though why they dump white sauce on everything is beyond me. Nothing special by any means.
That aside, crazy hectic place with cramped seating. There's 'overflow' space next door but it means going outside to get there.
The place and service looks like they are running an organ business, it's expensive, served with plastic kettles, BUT.
It is so good. So we will come again. We took black and rino ribs. Both are excellent but my heart goes to rino ones. Wow this is simply great.
We came back this year again, and all stays the same. Great place to go. For me, it is the number 1 restaurant in NYC.
Phenomenal brisket. The juice, the fat, the pull, the smoke, the bark. Perfection. The sides were great too, I really appreciated the sweet and acidic contrasts of the pickles and slaw as well as the caramelized onion mashed potatoes that were incredibly rich and smooth.
I went there yesterday for the first time. Unfortunately what I came there for was not available (the lamb riblets)
I ordered the smoked wings that were GOOD so was the hoarseraddish mayo. BUT I ORDERED THE MEXICAN STREET CORN - VERY DISAPPOINTING. IT WAS PLAIN GRILLED CORN WITH A SIDE SAUCE OF CHIPOTLE MAYO
NO PAPRIKA, MAYO
PARMASEAN CHEESE, BLACK PEPPER, ETC. Never would have bought it for $7
Wow wow wow, literally the place to go if you want pure unadulterated beef!
Starting with the chicken adobo tacos, the combination of a soft flour tortilla combined with moist chicken and a savory blend of toppings and sauce, absolutely delicious.
From there we move on to the holy grail of smoked meats - The Dino rib! Just imagine tender melt in your mouth pieces of meat with that perfect smoke ring and a beautiful salt and pepper bark flavor. You have to get this if you come!
To top it all off we had the pulled beef fries which honestly was just plain yum, the horseradish mayo really gave that nice kick and finished off the sweetness of the pulled beef.
Overall 5/5 and definitely going to be here often, I just can’t think of another place that offers comparable beef. Period.
