2Had to wait 1.5 years for this appointment for my child…by the time it rolled around our insurance had just changed and they don’t take that one…. Sorry!
Very disappointing experience. If she likes you and decides to help she might - otherwise forget it. My child waited 14 months to finally get in to this practitioner. Then I was called less than 24 hours before the apt and told by the front office person that Dr Jackson was moving her kid to college and cancelling my apt. Wow. They did reschedule but the morning of the new apt, the office person arrived after us. We were there at 9: 15 for a 9: 30 apt. She was there at 9: 30. For Most healthcare visits I’m told I’m late if I arrive at the actual scheduled time. So this seemed odd. But ok. The funny thing was that The psychologist arrived at 10am- a full 30 minutes after the apt times and 45 mins after we arrived after essentially blowing us off for the 1st apt and after waiting over a year; and she ultimately barely spoke to my child. We had had an evaluation done with another practitioner and our family psych thought it was not up to date. She basically overrode him and said we didn’t need it. The family psychologist also tried to get information to her before this scheduled apt to save time and she - Jackson - never called back until we were there. I also tried to leave medical records at the office prior to the apt after spending a good amount of time printing and gathering everything but was told not to leave it bc ‘Dr Jackson won’t read any of these documents beforehand so just take them with you. ‘ Um ok. I also found her manner incredibly condescending. The whole thing was a complete waist of my time and my child’s and was bizarre and pretty unprofessional. A terrible shortage of neuropsychs in Western NY which makes this disaster all the more palpable and upsetting yet also understandable. People are desperate. It’s very sad bc struggling kids and families in pain are suffering.
