I had my food catered for Christmas. I wasn't pleased. I ordered 14 different dishes. My time to pick up was noon. I was very, very late in picking it up. Potatoe salad who put peas and in potatoes salad. Pineapple Glaze Ham gives the customer chunk of ham instead of slice pieces. Stuffing! Who makes stuffing with big chunks of bread, peas and carrots, and shredded turkey. I will do a take out from now on. Judge for yourself. "Lovely"

Jacob is everything that is good in Harlem. Quality cheap soul food and their health regulations are airtight. Employees are extremely kind and they even gave us an extra free plate since we were a big group.

They serve hot foods buffet style, you chose what you want and pay by the weight. COVID guidelines observed they provide hand sanitizer and plastic gloves are required when you serve yourself. Food is good and prices are reasonable.

Buffet style. Weighed by the pound. I got beef lasagna. There wasn’t one piece of beef in the lasagna. Only undercooked vegetables with no taste. The goat was too hard to chew and had nothing but bones and the “jerk” chicken was more like Spivey bbq. The biggest Waste of $30 I ever spent. Please go else where …

I love your food at Jacob. Every year for my family day at Lehman I order from u guys. Your food is amazing. Know I'm ordering for thanksgiving it's my sons birthday. Yesssss.

First the food excellent been eating here for years, service is good. Buffet style, food price by weight. You can over do it lol but it's worth it

Soul food in buffet style with many yummy food.
I had salmon they made excellent, collard greens and asparagus also avocado salad, but my family tried almost everything… my daughter a meat fan she had BBQ rib, pepper steak and beef on the bones.
My son and hubby pick up fired chicken and soft baked chicken with mac and cheese mashed potato and greens too. I seen they had oxtail, turkey, many different salad, fruits, banana pudding for sweets,
for take out or you can seat outside.
I choose outside sitting this place nice and clean, and can’t wait to eat that food. For me best on sunday especially if you don’t wanna cook but everyone in your family wanna eat different combo. Also recommend people who works in the area the price is great for everybody pocket.
This two on the picture was $21 after we took 3 more box and paid all together $50 so each box $10 these days for hot food is a bless.

The food was delicious, self served in a very clean environment. Guest are strongly encouraged to wear food prep gloves as well as face masks. It was the best meal I have ever had and I am a huge foodie!

Hey you can sit outside and eat that delicious all kinds of soul food. OH My Goodness, ribs turkey wings, jerk chicken ham fried chicken. Okra was on the money and you know i had to find grsvy for those buttery mashed potatoes. Can you imagine spending under 20.00 for all. Had 2 settings to eat. It is worth just picking up the food and going hom. Love me some Jacobs

First time there didn't know it was buffet style variety of souls food.everything look delicious.and it was delicious.the turk chicken should come with a warning ️ spicy baby but good.will definitely go back try some more.

Great variety of dishes and the flavors are amazing. Hot and cold items to choose from. Something for everyone's palate.

There is nothing quite like Jacob - which is simultaneously a self -serve smorgasbord and a moveable feast of different types home-cooked Black cuisine - and salads and fresh fruit and dessert - for brunch and dinner all rolled into one. With zero ambience or pretense, Jacob serves up communal take out dining to a grateful community. It is, in its own simple way, a glorious celebration of food and pound for pound one of the best dining/dinner deals in Harlem.

I “WAS” a returning customer for years buying from the buffet as well as catered food. I went into Jacobs on 09/28/2021 I ordered 2 pans of food from the catering menu. I was overcharged by “$757.86”! This was clearly an error and brought to my attention by the staff immediately. The reason behind my outrage and anger it that they took the money out of my account in 2 seconds and made me wait three business days to get it back. As a result of being overcharged, my mortgage payment was declined (bounced). I am now jumping through hoops with the bank who holds my mortgage. I explained to them that I needed my money back in my account to avoid my mortgage payment from being declined and accruing charges. They didn’t care. They took my money and I was lied to over and over and over again by staff and managers. I was told that my account would be credited within 15 minutes, (my account was not credited)! I called back that evening, spoke with the same female employee and was told that the manager would call me back within 15 minutes, they didn’t call me back. I tried to email Mr. Jacob, a manager named Kim called me back and pretty much gave me a sucks to be you attitude. I went into the restaurant to cancel my order and speak with Mr. Jacob, he was not there, Kim who told me she would be there wasn’t there and all I got was a bunch of empty apologies and out right lies to go with my bounced mortgage and insufficient funds fees. All they had to do was reverse the charges or give me the cash so I could put it back into my account.

African soul food. Staff respectful polite professional & very clean. A greeter host informs guest to clean hands with sanitizer supplied & put on disposable gloves provided by restaurant. I have NEVER SEEN any other restaurant in NYC & other towns take such a high level of responsibility with cleanliness & safety. Five stars!

When it was dine in very nice casual setting with great live music at times.

Thé Was ACTually Good Besides The Jerk Was A Lil Salty And I Was Looking Forward To oxtails but they didn’t have them that day maybe next time but there food is good and i came from CT SO WORth it

Absolutely wonderful! Great customer service, great way of staying safe during this crazy pandemic. As customers come in, they are given a mask, they sanitize their hands and use clear plastic gloves to self serve themselves. Not only that but the food is definitely great soul food. We spent over $100 and it was well worth it! Can't leave NY without stopping here. 5 stars no capp!

All I am gonna say is I paid 30$ on food here for me and my daughter and I wish I had spent more. Matter fact, I wish I got several plates so I could eat their food all week or possibly freeze for a later time. I cant wait to go back there. The collards, mac& cheese, candied yams (wow), roast and the sweet potato pie.threw me out my chair. Bonus, they were exceptionally good about Covid Standards and no one was allowed to touch anything in the place without a sanitizing process.

They have the best food that I know of in that block, if you eve go there try the banana pudding and the salads, everything there is fresh (from what I seen, since I go there regularly)
