Jake's Dilemma reviews
16Josh and his team exceeded our expectations for a Corporate Happy Hour. The customer service, food and friendliness off everyone we encountered is why we will continue to return in the immediate future. If you are looking for a great place for drinks and food after a crazy hectic day at work Jake's Dilemma is the place to go!
Nothing crazy, everything was satisfactory. Proportions made no sense though; my friend got a sandwich that was way bigger than my burger, and I think they were similarly priced so why not also give me more burger? Oh well.
Booked The Oak Cellar for a big group get-together yesterday and had a great time! We set up the event with Christine M.from the Events Department ahead of time and she made it such an easy and simple process. She was truly a pleasure to work with. Beckham was our bartender and he did an amazing job as well! Definitely well liked by all of our guests. We’ll definitely consider Jake’s Dilemma again for another big group outing.
How can you go wrong with $3 bud light seltzer and a $5 tap beer?
It’s your basic neighborhood bar on Amsterdam nothing fancy and always has a crowd drinking, playing pool and foosball.
Service was great, the bartender and manager were super friendly. Always a favorite stop when in town.
Very average bar. Plenty of others down this road that have more of an interesting vibe and aren’t as cheap feeling. We stayed for a drink, but weren’t keen to stay longer.
Good atmosphere and attention. Variety of beers and drinks while enjoying your seasonal games
Chill Flow Good Service Good Times Even The Dog Chulo has regular visits at Jake's. Thank you all for the food and drinks.
There’s a happy hour and drink specials everyday! I got the smothered tots to eat which were fine but nothing over the top. Good food menu though all things considered. Plenty of TVs too to catch any sporting events. Very nice spot to hang out
I was a big fan of this place. The vibe was really cool and there was plenty of choice behind the bar. The chicken bites I had were pretty decent as well. I went here on a Sunday and it was $5 draught all night which is a steal around these parts. I will definitely be coming back here.
Jake’s Dilemma on the Upper West Side of Manhattan is a fantastic bar for cheap drinks, dancing, and watching sports.
And you should also head there with proper expectations. It’s not somewhere you’re gonna order intricate cocktails, have a business meeting, or read a book.
It’s a young bar with loud music, cheap drinks, and sports on the TVs at all times.
Jake’s Dilemma has some negative reviews on Google & Yelp, but I think most of those people just had unrealistic expectations. Also, a good chunk of those reviews are from 4-6 years ago, and I think things have improved since then. We’ve always had a solid experience with the staff and left feeling tipsy for cheap, a rarity in NYC. Check out our full review (not sponsored) on our website!
From the same owners of Stumble Inn, Jake’s Dilemma has a similar concept of dive bar/college like feel but is definitely less fun and crowded. $7 a drink. 3.25/5 stars as a day bar.
Only thing is good is a live music! Food is okay, wine is also okay. Service is kind of slow but even that for the night I went to with my friends was crowded so I kind of put up with it.
Typical pub, food was good, drinks were good. The server replaced my Guinness right away which was weird (maybe it wasn't Guinness who knows)
The place smelled and reminded me, of college hangouts. Plenty of TVs for the sport enthusiasts.
Old school go to spot for this native of the upper west side. My brother had his bachelor party in the private downstairs bar. Never forget!
A great casual bar with good vibes and atmosphere. I came by for a party with the back room reserved and the staff was great.
