Californian Restaurant Jams reviews
16Hockey puck bread. Slimy avocado $25 toast. Coffee tastes like cheaper diner coffee. Not a good place to
Brunch: Food was really great as was the service. Coffee could use an upgrade. Suggestion: Fonte Coffee Roasters.
Wow, this place is delicious and delightful! Brocheta French toast super fire! Service is great and fast. Saw ppl ordering lunch and looks great as well! I shall return!
We stopped here for a drink and a break from walking around town for the day and it didn’t disappoint. The place is beautifully designed and smells lovely when you first walk inside. I ordered a hot toddie and it was wonderful. The chairs were comfortable, the service was good.
The service moves slower than a snail and is confused about what goes where and who wants what (also, whos serving what table) i say this after eating here multiple times as a hotel guest
food is great and one of the servers is dope but i think there must be a management issue, which sadly ruins the experience
Recently had an amazing Saturday brunch at Jams. Despite the crowd, the service from our server Emda was outstanding. The food and drinks were spot-on, truly enhancing the whole experience. Highly recommend for a fantastic brunch experience!
We had reservations for brunch on a Sunday. Service was relatively quick, but we felt crammed in between other tables. The food was fine, but nothing spectacular. For the price, we should have been able to get a croissant that wasn’t dry as a bone and crumbly.
So disappointing. Food quality and service did not meet the high prices. Our waitress was disinterested. The huevos rancheros and side of potatoes were barely edible. Bellini was terrible. Hamburger and Jams Benedict were good but nothing special. The best thing was the chocolate croissants although they were overcooked. Lovely atmosphere. If I were a manager there I would be circulating, making sure guests are happy and have what they need as the service is slow.
The vegan risotto was so boring, and it was made with wheat berries not orzo like advertised. For $28, I really expected this dish to be elevated.
If you like sitting in a beautiful plant-filled restaurant, though, I guess it’s worth giving it a go.
My wife and I had breakfast at the Bar with Salvatore. The botanical breakfast was great with a side of bacon. My wife had egg whites, fruit and the best part was the almond Croissant!
Nice place one block from Central Park, the hostess' attention was polite but not helpful, what I liked the most was the cheesecake
An utterly disappointing experience: I waited 40 minutes for my dish, specifically requested without strawberries due to an allergy. Despite this, it arrived with strawberries. Rectifying it took an extra hour. After waiting, I attempted to settle the bill, but my dish hadn't even arrived after 20 minutes. To my surprise, I was then informed that my order had been canceled. Frustratingly, I spent 2 hours there and left without having eaten anything.
Remember to book, we had a Full breakfast and hot drink, very nice atmosphere we had not booked but at 9am we were able to have breakfast at the bar.
GOOD!
We went on Christmas Day for dinner and were quite disappointed. I found out about it on a best brunch review list and we really like California farm-to-table style food, so were excited to try dinner. My husband's pork chop was so dry he couldn't eat it. I had a Christmas special, the game hen, and au jus tasted like liquid smoke which overpowered the entire dish. The appetizer (lobster salad) and side dish (delicatessen squash) were both great, our server was lovely, and I really enjoyed my cocktail so we'll likely give it another shot. The manager did say that brunch was their best service (and that is the review list I found them on), so that is likely what we'll do.
We were there the other day with my husband for a breakfast. The atmosphere is really nice. I loved the whole wheat pancake, but the french toast and coffees were not that successful. Some servers were kind but some of them were rude. This place is not like the first choice around that area.
Food was pretty good and I have no real issue with the general menu pricing, which is typical of inflated NYC rates, but $15 for a 28 oz bottle of water? What a joke. At that price the sever should mention something when asking what type of water one would like.
I'm posting this with the hope that someone in management sees it and realizes how ridiculous this is. I regularly see $8, $10, even $12, which is pushing it, but $15? GTFO. And this is coming from someone who has zero issue paying $2500/night for a great hotel, $500/person for a special meal or $18 for a cold pressed juice.
