Japan Corner reviews
13This spot is a hidden gem for Korean / Japanese dishes. The food is so fresh and tasty, only the finest ingredients seem to be used here. Highly recommend the spicy pork rice bowl. Great selection of interesting groceries too
A little store that has a variety of products for sale. My go to for bubble tea, bulgogi and sushi yummm
BEST SPOT in woodside! The lady there is super nice and cooks delicious authentic food. I had her speciality dish and it was amazing.
Super friendly service, and the ramen is amazing! The price is also great. Id recommend this place to anyone
I got the bulgogi baos and they are really delicious - topped with rly good fresh veg. Fun snacks and good coffee.
The teenage young man and another young man in his 20s are friendly. I've read some of the reviews down there and it's unfortunate that some customers had encountered some bad service. Noodles are decent except I believe it was the clear broth shio ramen which is abit too salty. Beef udon is my favorite so far. The imported beers are superb, really good dried fish snacks. Even have japanese style sandwiches. If you want instant soba noodles from japan? This place have it. To remind people that just because this is a japanese store, don't expect the same japanese hospitality like back in japan. Again this is new york city, so you are required to have some thick skin if you want to live here. I can't speak for the other staff, but after school and after work its those two young men that I usually encounter and I get along with them well. I can't speak for the other staff. I encounter the young lady there once. I asked if I can use the restroom and said sorry which is understandable since this is not a restaurant it's a grocery where you can order food and eat in. So I had to go across the street to boston market, order a drink to make it legit that I buy something there and uses that restroom.
This place was really nice and I enjoyed the ramune it changed prices to 1.49 but it’s still good so yeah and it opens at 12: 00 so have fun if this is going to be your first visit
I would give it a 5 star if they open earlier like 8am, because I love their coffee and breakfast selection. It's a perfect place for a quick note before and after the subway ride.
Wouldn't let me use my credit card for 9.98 because their minimum is 10. How petty and rude. Spending less money here in the future and going to HMart down the road. Congratulations taiyo, you played yourself.
Sucks!the Fat japanese lady in front desk bad service and attitude! Never go back! You can”t even say a hello?
This is a very cute Japanese store to visit. There are a lot of unique items of edible foods. They also have a small nook area to order your food and eat it there. So if you are having trouble finding Japanese items, I would highly recommend this place.
Ridiculously horrible customer service, came in at about 5 o’clock. There seemed to be an older Asian lady trying to return an item but she was rejected by the cashier. To which she asked for the manager. But instead of just letting the Asian lady speak to a manager your worker just started hurling vulgarities at the lady causing an even bigger uproar, remember it was an older Asian lady and your cashier is a short but buffed Hispanic man clearly intimidating her. Is this how you train your employees to treat customers? The argument was so intense I had to leave before getting what I needed. If that’s how you treat a customer for a return, I won’t be coming again.
This store has quite good variety of goods for such a small place. Prices are very reasonable and some things are really cheap.
My favorite Meiji Hello Panda Cookies here are just $0.99!
They also have a hot foods available such as miso soup, ramen ($8-9) and udon ($6-8). As well as they have frozen stuff, condiments, etc. Basically everything you might need/want. They might lack of some brands or variety, but most likely you’ll find a substitution.
Customer service seems to be a low quality and not considered as a priority, but I got only a pack of cookies, so I didn’t run on any problems so far.
