JCPenney, Garden City NY

So my review is mostly about the fine jewelry department. The initial visit on 5/23 was very pleasant. The lady assisting me and my fiance was very kind and helpful. We were buying an engagement ring. So we place the order it needs to be sent out for sizing and we are told it will take 7-10 days which I knew it'd be longer but that's fine. I wait 2 full weeks and I tried calling a few times but the number I was given never went thru to any employees and would say memory full need access code and hang up. When I get there this other lady was honestly kinda rude to me when I asked about my order said it wasn't there and it takes 3 weeks and said to call before coming next time which I said I did but I just was kinda like ok and left. So I go back at the 3 week mark (June 13th) and of course it's not there and they say it actually takes 4 weeks to come and I'm like questioning why it keeps switching Everytime I go and I never received a courtesy call if maybe there's a delay or anything and whenever I call I get the memory full message. I'm told the order is supposed to come with the shipping on Tuesday or Thursday and they would definitely call me. Well I never get the call so today June 27th I go in again to see what's going on and it's finally here but I never received the call and even the guy said maybe they never left a message but I don't think they called cause I was answering every call even if it said scam just Incase it was them and I check my voicemails daily Incase I did miss anything. So as happy as I am to finally have my ring I'm kind of disappointed with the service cause idk how 7-10 days turned into 5 weeks and I never was told of any delays which I'm usually very understanding and would've at least appreciated that. I'm sorry.

Edit: also I didn't receive a box for my ring they just gave me the ring and tbh I was just so happy to finally have it I didn't ask for one? Idk if I was supposed to ask or if it doesn't come with it I just thought that was also weird

I thought they had closed down all their stores. But nice to see some still open. We always loved shopping at J C Penney. You could rely on the quality.

I have enjoyed shopping at JC PENNEYS this Spring. LC has a nice line and there are some new vendors they have peeked my fashion sense. I want to thank the buyers and I look forward to shopping again with JC PENNEYS.

Lots to choose from but there is never staff around. No one from another department will help. That is frustrating.

Why are closing the doors I love going there.with my kids. Back in the good old days It's sad that they going out of business. It's sad that all good. Department stores are doing so poor. I am so sad. The Fashion Square Mall doesn't exist anymore. I wish. That didn't have to be like this.

This is by far my favorite clothing store! One day I came to buy a suit for my homecoming parade for high school, when I was done getting it I thought the total was going to be more than $300 from what I saw in the tags but I ended up spending only $79 for a FULL SUIT! THAT'S CRAZY! I like to come here every now and then because they usually have some good discounts in some really good clothing

They have a nice Sephora inside. Other then that I wouldn't buy clothes in there. The ladies handbag are outdated. It's a low budget department store.

The Jewelry Department is poorly managed. Quite often, it is the case that this store does not have enough counter help for such a large floor space. From a managerial perspective, I can understand the challenges of personnel available and other decisions to preserve the bottom line. But why not have a queue system so that the few workers you have are not under duress trying to manage volume beyond their capacity? Many customers were frustrated, and rightfully so, because they were waiting prolonged periods of time, waiting to be served, only to watch customers who had not been waiting as long, served before them. Some of them walked away. I'm here because my wife wanted something for our grand daughter's birthday. Were it not for that, I would have a left without making a purchase. I stopped making personal purchases from this department a while ago.

I have been going to this Jcpenney since the 90s and it has really gone down hill. There are some great finds at Jcpenney but the shopping experience is marred by a messy unorganized store and lack of employees. Waited almost 30mins to pay. The few cashier locations all had long lines building due to lack of cashiers.

It's always a pleasure to visit and shop at such an iconic store. Been shopping jcp all my life. Hopefully it won't fall victim like so many other finer equal stores!

My operate a Mildred was extremely professional. I saw her work on a women in a restaurant and was referred to her by that particular client. I was undecisive about what I was actually doing, She was very patient and made me feel very comfortable. She made me feel as though her time with my time.
I will return!

Great bargains can be found here. Store is neat and organized, and staff are friendly and helpful, if just a little hard to find at times.

Great back to school sales, comes in handy with kids, as they outgrow their clothes so quickly.

This store location has an external Mall entrance as well as an internal Mall entrance. The people working there are gracious and patient. I have never had a bad experience with this store. The prices are fair with a good selection of clothing, shoes, and housewares.

Not good. Because they keep a boys T-shirt that was on sale. My Child like that. But when I went to the counter for pay they said no. Sale is on another brand. But they keep all the T-shirt on the sale rack. It was really unexpected from jcpenney. However I brought that for my kid. He was happy

Disorderly along with Mixed clothing on different sales racks. Hard to find a accurate price for clothing.
Unkempt and disarray are the aisle and clothing.
Needs a TOTAL OVERHAUL FROM TOP TO BOTTOM.
VERY FRUSTRATING EXPERIENCE

My spot for much needed t-shirts and tank tops. Other than that, I usually stay FAR away (except for patronizing Sephora) Definitely not what it was- Quite junkie at times with merchandise thrown here and there. And the 'piece de resistance? ' Only one (count them 1) cashier's area open in the several thousand square foot area on the first floor! Beyond ridiculous.
