Jefferson Market Garden reviews
14Beautiful, peaceful spot. Benches are spaced out so you can enjoy some solitude. No food allowed (to keep rodents away). Thank you to the volunteers who make this such a lovely place! (there is a donation box/venmo if you’d like to help support this park)
Pretty spot, but I was stressed about other things and immediately got busted for trying to smoke a cig. I know you aren't supposed to smoke in parks, but jeez, this guy was on me in seconds...
I recently discovered this garden and its my new favorite= its walking distance from me- its just beautiful in there- this is my 2nd time
Beautiful garden to take a stroll in. There's a cute fish pond, a greenhouse and several benches to take group photos or selfies. Lovely annuals and perennials are planted here. Donations help support this community run site.
One of my favorite Garden to sit back and relax in the Downtown Area of Manhattan.
Small beautiful and well kept … no eating allowed and I like that cause it’s all about maintaining and keeping the garden clean and away with the rodents. So many beautiful flowers and green trees between the busy city streets in Greenwich Village and just simply beautiful
Love love this Garden!
A perfect wedding venue! Beautiful, peaceful, an oasis in the city. Wedding coordinator Zac is the best! Friendly and professional.
Such a great place to relax for a bit! Gardens were loaded with native plants that attracted native bees, butterflies and birds. The garden was laid out well and could easily provide a template for someone's small yard.
The director was scared of me. I coukd see it in her face. And im a sweetheart. With a soft spot for gardens
My favorite of the large community gardens (my favorite small garden is St. Luke's on Hudson St.a 10 minute walk away). Very well-maintained and it always seems like there's something new to see each month. Volunteers at the gate are always friendly, ready to answer your questions and very chatty. There's a woman there sometimes who know everything about all the plants/trees including the history of some of the plantings. Benches there to relax, and also good to walk through; if the gate is closed, the garden is mostly visible from the street. Only negative is that there isn't much going on there late fall/winter (usually closed and lack of hardy blooming flora), but it's a volunteer garden so that's ok. If you're a tourist, be sure to look around the block on West 10th for Patchin Place; I don't think it's a private street, so I think it's ok to go through the gate there.
Always such a pleasant spot to stop. No bathroom, just a tiny quaint garden. They collect donations at the gate, but I think they should consider selling plants and seeds for fundraising. That would probably be more profitable than just donations.
Absolutely stunning and a lush haven of beauty in the middle of the city. I will absolutely return for another stroll, whoever maintains these gardens does an excellent job.
Great place to relax, retire, and being by yourself with nature, even being surrounded by people, in the big city. Small area in the village in NYC.
Multiple plants in Bloom! Lots benches & interesting, unusual plants. Carefully curated experience! See the yellow magnolia blooming, fritellaria & others!
Enjoy!
Very lovely garden plenty of bench's.
However the Garden should stay open.
For a couple more hours past 5.
