Jin Wang, DDS reviews
3I had all of my wisdom extracted with Dr. Wang, he was absolutely wonderful! The experience from start to finish was so pleasant. He has excellent communication skills and made me feel informed and comfortable the entire time. I knew I was in good hands when I met him. 10/10 would recommend!
Dr Wang was perfectly friendly and detailed in explanations of what could be or needed to be done and recommendations. The only issue that stuck in my craw was that I looked them up on my dental plan and they are listed as in network. When I called and made the appointment for a tooth extraction I asked again about my insurance and was told ‘oh yea we take that’.
So imagine my surprise when I’m sitting in the chair only to find out no they are not in network for Dr Wang and only certain Drs in the office are in network while specialists like for tooth extraction are not in network so it’s gonna cost me more $.
I was annoyed because it seems this should be made clear when I asked specifically when booking the appointment. I might have looked for another dentist in network if I knew and not waste my time or Dr Wang’s getting up early on my day off work and traveling from Battery Park to 56th St in the wind and rain and cold if I knew.
I left without anything done not even a cleaning which wasn’t offered and to be honest I didn’t ask about either after getting the quote and updated insurance policy. Though he did ask me when the last time I had a cleaning was.
I don’t know what I will do now either look for another dentist in network or try to save up the money and see Dr Wang for it. I’m too annoyed to think about it right now so will decide later. I can’t speak to the quality of care since I didn’t get to have any work actually done.
Dr. Wang is the best dentist I have ever had. His skill, combined with his compassion and understanding made a triple wisdom teeth extraction infinitely less nightmarish than I expected it to be.
