Vegetarian Restaurant Jisu reviews
16 Unfortunately we found this restaurant on our third day not on our first. We went there every evening for a great soup to end our days of our New York trip. It was so delicious and I really miss the good food here in Germany. We will come back in every future NY trip.
See you in 2025
I got the vegan sampler with spare ribs and beef. It was a tasty and balanced meal. Very basic but hit all the right notes and thoughtfully priced at $9.99
Many of these Chinese fast food restaurants cost $16 for stir-fry lo mein but here’s it’s half the price and so much healthier!
Very good and well priced vegetarian food.also the venue itself is very nice, spacious yet cozy and peaceful.will definitely be coming back here.
Right next to Buddhist temple. Food is affordable, delicious and wholesome. MUST GET THEIR 4 TREASURES. Really kind owners. Ditch the other more popular vegetarian spots like Bodhi and check out Jisu.
This was our second time to Jisu. Sadly, I don’t think we’ll be returning. The food was Ok, but quite highly priced (except for lunch specials which were comparable to others in the area). Most dishes we had were rather greasy, and not super flavorful. The vegan veggie dumplings (fried) were nice and had a homemade wrapper, and the noodle soups with vegetables included a nice assortment of options plus lots of noodles. The larger dishes we got (a mixed mushroom at $30 and an eggplant at over $20) were just disappointingly bland and oily. Our daughter enjoyed the strawberry smoothie, but frankly it was a sugar bomb and we’re not sure how much fruit was in there at all. The servers were nice but the food came out piece mail and took waaaaay too long considering how many folks were in the restaurant while we were waiting. It’s old school New York which is fun, but just not tasty enough when there are so many other great vegan Chinese options in the same area.
A very good vegetarian restaurant, the environment here is good, the Zuo Zong Chicken is quite good, I will definitely recommend it to my friends
Jisu is one of the best affordable vegan restaurants in NYC. I’ve tried their combination platters, stir fry noodles, soups, dumplings, veggies, smoothies, and fruit drinks and they are all very delicious! The food feels healthy and not heavy. The owner is friendly and the restaurant is comfortable. Excited to come back to try more items on the menu!
This is my go to spot. Extremely affordable vegan or not. Taste great and the service is lovely
needs more customers
This small restaurant has delicious food and amazing smoothies! Thank you for the great service and the food recommendation. Honestly, come visit them because you’ll be delighted! (Order the watermelon smoothie and you won’t regret)
Move over NoodleTown I got a new favorite restaurant. Went here with 3 friends for a newlywed dinner because the blushing bride is a vegan. I’m a veg and the other two are omnivores. We all raved about our cost-healthy and delicious vegan meals: dumplings (so-so), clean simple veg noodle soup (me), faux-duck noodle soup (best fake duck), faux shrimp and rice for the happy bride and a very very good faux-pork wide noodle dish. I do have to admit that the old school C-town atmosphere and service is more to my liking at NoodleTown but if you’re a vegan or vegetarian Jisu is the far better choice
Love this place. It’s so hard to find vegan food in the neighborhood that is affordable and healthy, and this place is both. I love their combo platters, and would recommend the D6 with the eight treasure soup. The staff is always really friendly, and it is rarely crowded. Afterwork if I’m hungry and want something that’s vegan and not super heavy, this is my first stop.
Genuinely the worst vegan food I've ever had. Really terrible spring rolls, tofu was far too salty, and a noodle soup that was really bland. The rib noodles were bareable.
I don’t know why the previous listing got taken down since they still go by Jisu, but this place is one of the best vegetarian restaurants I’ve been. The soups are hearty and nourishing, and the seven grain rice dishes are perfectly seasoned with healthy ingredients that you can see.
I had the lunch special beef w/broccoli. Food was fresh and delicious and service was quick. I’d definitely stop here again.
I ordered a delivery of Seafood Savory Hotpot and it turned out to be a very soup with many vegetables and an invitation to soy-based seafood. Very rich and very hermetic. I would order it again, I recommend it.
