I am going through quite the rough time and decided to take Salsa as I have been wanting to do it for years. Darrah from Joel Salsa has been a God send. From the moment I met her she brought me right out of my blues and made me love myself again through Salsa. Not only does she make it fun but She is sooo knowledgable about the dance form and I learn so much. I didn’t know there were so many different intricacies! Darrah is super patient and makes learning so easy and comfortable. I really look forward to each class and am so excited to continue to learn Salsa with Darrah. See her immediately if you are hesitant! You will fall in love with Salsa and Darrah!

Darrah Samuels is an excellent salsa instructor. She is kind, funny and charismatic and brings a lot of energy to the classes. I am giving 5 stars because of her. Before we took classes with her, we tried the group classes, which suffered from overcrowding, which was less than ideal. Fortunately, Joel Salsa refunded the payment, and we ended up with individual lessons with Darrah. Highly recommended.

We had our very first salsa lesson with Darrah. We were feeling a little nervous in anticipation but it literally disappeared the moment we met Darrah. She was so welcoming and funny. She catered our lesson to exactly what we were trying to get out of it. I was struggling with some of the techniques and Darrah never ever ever gave up on me. She found a way for it to make sense for me. We couldn’t believe how quickly the hour passed. She is everything amazing! We can’t wait to go back for lesson #2! You won’t be disappointed!

My husband and I have been taking private lessons with Darrah from Joel Salsa for the past month, and she is AMAZING! We thought we would never learn to dance salsa, but we’ve learned otherwise with her. She is super energetic for every class, and breaks down every move to its simplest form for easy learning. I've taken many, many dance classes and quite a few salsa classes in my life. This was THE BEST. The teacher doesn't talk tooooo much. I hate when they do that. She danced and talked. She let us spend the two hours mostly dancing, with enough explanations. But, we kept dancing. I just loved it. We worked up a sweat and had tons of fun.

The entire experience has been proffesional and the class I took is very good to learn the basic 2 step of salsa. Cant wait to start the advance class. Employees really work with you and your schedule. I love it!

Joel is amazing! Super unique music-focused method. I knew how to dance salsa coming in but took his intro class to benefit from his approach and I don't regret it. Highly recommend

I've taken other New York Style Salsa classes and I have to say.this is my favorite so far. The boot camp is fast paced but Joel makes it easy to follow. I also prefer being taught to follow the musicality rather than counting.

Joel, Maria and the other instructors are all really nice people and great at teaching dancers from the novice to the most advanced levels. The classes are well-structured and the overall ambiance is warm and friendly. Beginning classes are especially well-designed to get students out on the dance floor. There’s a wonderful group feeling that Joel and Maria foster that makes their studio really special. Classes at the studio are among the highlights of my week!

Great instruction, class has a bit too many people, but I love Andrea the instructor. She is motivating, patient, and always answers your questions about steps and moves. I'm having alot of fun

Excellent first class. I really enjoyed the technique and immediately signed up for 4 extra classes for the full 8 week bootcamp. Been going now for 2 months and am extremely satisfied. I definitely feel like I have a grasp of the fundamentals of Salsa and am eager to learn new material once I get Level 2 more down packed.
