Joe's Steam Rice Roll reviews
15No real flavor outside of the sauces or the sausage but that might be typical for rice rolls, haven't had many. It's pretty expensive for rice rolls too.
They have screens for you to order and pay for your order, and with prices and everything, very delicious, fast and good flavor.
Very tasty rice roll! Friendly staff who advised us to add sauce/peanut butter to fully enjoy this dish. Something new and interesting for us.
I freakin love this place. Sooo delicious, I splurge on the “shrimp party” roll with layers of egg for 10 bucks but even the regular rolls are packed with filling for just 7. Counter service is cranky but in a good way:) Lots of comfortable communal seating and good music.
Great steam rolls, variety of choices, made fresh to order. Each order is big & very filling. Orders are taken on kiosk screen menu. Don't forget to take your receipt. Friendly staff & quick service. No table service, only a narrow counter space. Pick up order from cashier counter where various sauces are available fir use. Additional seating available in the back of the market. Take out & done in available.
Located on Canal Street in the heart of Chinatown NYC, this food court stand makes steamed rice rolls to order. Ignore that it is all served on disposable plates. The food is well prepared and delicious. The space has open tables for all patrons of various food vending stands. Various items can be included to fill the steamed rice rolls. Ordering and payment is done by tablet or at the counter if you have questions. Recommended for a quick snack or lunch.
Get your favorite steam roll, add in some spices, soy sauce and peanut sauce and you get a winner!
Service is fast, food is fast. Place is a must try
Was in Soho and needed a quick and cheap bite. This satisfied both those things.
Nothing amazing, but it was pretty good.
Perfect if you’re looking to grab a quick bite.fast service too.although the soy sauce they use wasn’t my favorite, still recommend trying!
We had not tried them before, we liked them so much that we ate them again. It is also very interesting to see how they make them.
Always one of my first meals when I’m in NYC…then multiple times thereafter. The steamed rice rolls are all made to order. Self order at the ordering screen and wait for your number to be called. Make sure to add the condiments that are to your right when you’re picking up your order!
Add the peanut sauce drizzle, soy sauce, and chili sauce, if you’re so inclined!
(If you’re ordering the meat or shrimp options, just know that the style of this dish is NOT suppose to be fully loaded with the protein! It’s mainly a noodle dish with some stuffing like maybe 3 shrimp or so. So manage your expectations of what you think a dish should be without knowing about a dish from another culture and how it’s usually prepared.)
The rice roll is the most expensive out of all the rice roll places nearby but it is also the tastiest. The Joe’s special #1 has great flavor with the meat and dried shrimp, gives you all the sauces including peanut sauce, sweet soy sauce and chili sauce. I would definitely come back for this again at the Canal street market!
If you like rice rolls, Joe's got 'em. Waited for what felt like a long time, but it was busy. Will seem steep for people expecting dim sum prices.
This place is exactly what you expect from it. The little rice rolls are very delicious. Order, pick up and enjoy in the market seating.
The rice rolls are very delicious and refreshing, but the curry fish balls are completely tasteless. It is recommended to make the curry thicker for better
