Joey's Italian Restaurant, Syracuse NY

Service was 6/5, everyone we encountered was fabulous. Food was average sadly. As an out of towner I was looking forward to a good Italian meal as family had recommended Joey's and the reviews looked great. My gin and tonic did not taste like it contained gin, 2 pasta meals had sauce that may have come from a jar, and the shrimp scampi was bland, oily sadness. I'm happy to give them the benefit of the doubt, maybe supplies are limited or the kitchen staff is short, or both. Willing to give it another try next time I'm in town, but if this is the pinnacle of good Italian in Syracuse I feel bad for its citizens.

I had a really pleasant meal here. Sat upstairs. Utica greens were a little different than what I was used to but still good. Veal Parm dinner was really good. Staff was helpful and nice. I thought it was a fair price for the quality. I bet it'd be really busy if there wasn't a pandemic on. I'd go back for sure.

Such a great restaurant and staff! I picked up my lil' order in for Christmas Eve. I forget just how huge their meatballs are and delicious! There's a reason why Joey's has been around for so long. I've been going here since my junior year in high school. Great work by their team and a well earned reputation.

The best eggplant on earth, the staff are just wonderful, I had enough leftovers for a whole other meal. My daughter loved her chicken cacciatore, too!

Stopped by while on a road trip. We ate at the upstairs casual dining area. The server was attentive and nice. The food was good, portions generous, and very reasonably priced. I had the utica greens to start and chicken riggies for entree. The garlic butter served with the bread was really good. I would definitely swing by again if i were in the area.

We felt welcomed from the minute we arrived. Chris brought us to our table, from there Cory, our waiter gave us amazing service! The food was DELICIOUS! To top off dinner Cory made us banana flambe'. A perfect time.

We ate at Pronto Joey's (casual dining upstairs). Service was great. Food was excellent. One note if you're trying to decide which one of the two restaurants to go to: at first glance the menus for the two restaurants look very similar, but pay close attention, as some items are not on both menus.

Seriously? You won't take a Take Out Order during Dinner Hours? Bad Customer Service! You Turn Away Business? Won't be coming back!

Grabbed takeout from Joey's tonight on a whim after dealing with a sick baby all day. Two chicken parm dinners with pasta, bread and herb butter, and a minestrone soup, were all fantastic! Chicken was so big we shared one and saved one, and our sick 2 year old devoured pasta and soup. Did not know what to expect of takeout from such a nice dine in restaurant, but we look forward to doing it again!

Joey's never disappoints! Whenever my mom and I go shopping in Syracuse (We're from Utica), we stop there for dinner. We enjoy the relaxing atmosphere, delicious food, and excellent service! We went last night (11/9) and our server Tammy was awesome! Such a nice end to a fantastic day with my mom!

So we ordered for the food to be ready at 6. Was probably done a lot earlier since we picked up the food and it was cold, mozzarella sticks weren’t fully cooked and Chicken Caesar salad was delicious but didn’t come with sauce so overall was a decent experience. Wish it was better, great place and great environment overall.

Still one of the best places to go for dinner. Dinner was outstanding. Kathy our server was fantastic. As soon as we walked in Chris Greeted us asked us if we had reservations and took us right to our table. Great job to the whole staff.

Jeannie gave us fantastic service and went out of her way to make us feel comfortable. Great food with great service. Thank you!

I hadnt been here since Covid.
But I know Joey and some of the employees and thought id do my part to support them.
Another Contrator and myself order our food and were talking over a job.
The next thing i know Belinda Larca, Joeys office manager and Head secretary comes out in Front of everybody and starts yelling at me over some personal problems! What is she 16? Very unprofessional for someone in her position! She totally embarrassed myself my contractor and other diners and wait staff. I guess she didnt care about where she was at the time
I would appreciate you keeping your Secretary in the back where she belongs not at my table Harassing me while im talking buisiness.

I love traditional, family-run Italian restaurants, and this is a perfect example! Continuing in my quest to eat Italian without actually eating any bread or pasta (it's a gluten thing), I had a soup appetizer, and then grilled sirloin steak topped with sauteed mushroom and onion. Side salad of course. All were delicious. No draft beer, but Peroni and Chianti by the glass. Service was attentive. Oh, and it's really good value for money.

My wife and I spent the weekend in Syracuse for her birthday as a quick getaway. Unsure of what we wanted to eat, we ended up calling Joey's and were able to secure a last minute reservation (literally less than an hour). From start to finish we were welcomed with sincere hospitality and top notch service. The host, the wait and bus staff were super friendly and gracious. The food was authentic, arrived quickly and served in hearty portions. The decor and ambiance of the restaurant was intimate and classy without feeling'overly' elegant. Drinks were poured exactly as expected with great wine options. Overall it was a memorable and excellent choice to share a special occasion with your loved one.

Joey’s makes dinner into a memory - the service is personable and while everyone is looking for help these days - the team at Joey’s still seem to enjoy being there and bringing out some amazing food. Love the calamari steak and the Italian sausage anything

Nice Italian restaurant, solid 4.6 great table side Caesar salad 5.0. Great another huge winner at 5.0. Love the cellar bar too. This is my go to place in Syracuse.

Warm and welcoming atmosphere, fantastic friendly service. Ask for David and Barb downstairs. Veal chop was heavenly. Will be back soon.
