John's of Times Square reviews
17 I had eaten at John’s previously but not since being diagnosed with Celiac’s Disease in 2015.
I ordered a takeout gluten free pizza with pepperoni and requested it extra crispy. The crust was fresh, airy and impeccably crisp. It had the perfect proportions of sauce, cheese and pepperoni making it truly delectable. The aromatic zest was truly mouthwatering making each bite better than the previous! It was the ideal size (10”) and left me satisfyingly full but not feeling like I ate too much. Overall this pizza was truly amazing and has earned a place in my top 3 gluten free pizzas of all time. I highly recommend it and will definitely go back there again, two thumbs up!
Excellent place to eat pizza. Order the fried calamari, they are delicious, we repeat. Very good beer.
Pizza was recommended by a local & we were pleasantly surprised by how large this old converted church was! Very cool ambiance & could be even better with some gentle updates/cleaning.
Our server was very attentive, but never hovering. Straightforward good service.
Ordered the margherita pizza & enjoyed the fresh out the fire pizza. Dough was pretty good, maybe ever so slightly over cooked, but the fresh flavors of the sauce, basil & mozzarella were great. Sauce was bright with a slight tang to it. The basil kept it really fresh.
You can really eat a whole 10” yourself because the crust is so thin.
Would definitely take the family here for dinner, especially our older parents, who would appreciate the large space & historic decor.
Top 5 pizza in NYC, great atmosphere in a cool building, and great staff. Don’t sleep on the wings, either!
My 3rd time there and it is getting worst and worst.regarding portion quality and.the place needs a "facelift" it is getting too old.and dirty. Rest rooms.simply unacceptable and the taring B from NYC helath department says it all.
We got a large 8 spice margarita pizza and the shrimp abborgato (spicy) with linguine and were pretty content. The pizza marinara was flavorful and the basil leaves elevated the pizza to a whole nother level—it tasted so fresh. And the pasta sauce was delicious too and the shrimp was a jumbo shrimp that was oh so yummy.
Service was good. Atmosphere is nice. This Pizzeria used to be a church so there’s a cathedral and stained glass. It’s a 2 story pizza place but when I went, they only had the lower level opened but guests are welcome to walk to the upstairs level.
Place is pricey though, we paid almost $30 for each entree
Close to all the mainstream of times square but off a quieter side steet. I wanted local NYC pizza and thats what i got. Walk in and look up, the place used to be a church, very cool, a must see when visiting NYC
Bruschetta was a little too hard and didn’t have enough flavor.
Pizza was great though and the staff was friendly.
Really tasty pizza! Not a 5 because I don’t think it’s the best and you have to pay about $5 extra for every topping that you want on your pizza. Service was great and the pizzas come fast.
Pizza was great lived up to the hype definitely one the best if not thee best I've had
Best example of good NYC Pizza, workers are professional and kind.
Highly recommended
My favorite NY Pizza! It’s the coal fired brick oven that gives John’s pizza the edge over others. The location in a former church with an amazing stained glass ceiling adds to beauty of this unique location.
Were there for dinner. Service was quick and very friendly. Pizzeria itself is big and loud. There's nothing wrong with quiet pizza. Nothing special in terms of taste. But it was very good. Can be recommended.
Need to be clean and updated, food and service is awesome. Tables, chairs, restrooms are old and dirty.
Good pizza as recommended by many YouTubers. We got seated at front of restaurant, was not great atmosphere. Wait service was ok.
Had to stop in here. Stopped in on a Friday night, busy as heck. I was able to get a seat at the bar. All I wanted was a pie. The service was fast, friendly and attentive. The atmosphere and interior was beautiful. Absolutely stunning on the. The menu looked great but I was there for the pie. Straight up pie.
The pizza was very very good. Love the lightly char crust and flavorful sauce. High quality cheese and pepperonis. John's of Bleeker is better. But this is still ultra delicious pizza. Definitely go to this place! I will be back!
