Joycrest Skating Rink reviews
12Loved joy crest, in middle school every weekend me and my friends went and skated.but since the original owners passing and the new owner's changes joy crest has gotten to expensive to hang out at every weekend. Elmira is town with very little for teens to do and with joy crest being the only thing for teens to do its way to over priced.fix the prices and you get more buisness
I grew up going to this place every Friday sometime Saturday but for rock and skate and I had a blast. This time I took my daughter it was her first time and my first time in 20 some years she absolutely loved it but it just was really hard for her to skate because the rental skates are so heavy. And I do have to say for it being like one of the one things that kids have to do it's pretty expensive. And it was very cold. The price is in the snack bar or way too high. But regardless my daughter has found a new hobby and is interested in coming back and would like to do her birthday there which I have to say they have a couple party rooms and the prices aren't bad and it's nice to still see something opened from when I was younger and be able to share that with my daughter.
Went to a birthday party there. Haven't skated in 20 years. The music was ridiculously loud, especially for a bunch of little kids. I had a headache for hours after leaving. And i go to thrash metal concerts. You couldn't escape the noise. Even in the back room the music was so loud. They don't have any skate sizes above 14. Our kids were so stressed from the noise and chaos that we left the party half way prematurely. All of our kids and ourselves just wanted to get out of there. Won't set foot in there again.
$10 for entry per person and $5 rental fee per person.
This response is directed at Joycrest’s Pickleball program. As a player who has over 10+ years experience in this sport it’s very off putting to come to a group where they are demanding an official USAPA ranking to play with the “advanced” group. Those who were apart of the inner sect here carried themselves with a less than desirable attitude and presented lack of sportsmanship and courtesy toward their visitors making myself and others feel unwelcome. As someone who has played and medaled in multiple 4.0 tournaments it has been brought to my attention that I am unwelcome to play in said advanced group because I do not have an official ranking by the USAPA. I am not the only one that feels animosity toward this group and will not be playing at Joycrest again.
My sister and I had a blast at Joycrest this past weekend. Staff was so inviting, accommodating and friendly. The atmosphere was fun, family friendly and clean. Excited to return with my kids!
Clean, well kept, vintage old school atmosphere, family friendly. Highly recommended for a fun adventure close to home!
Four great indoor pickleball courts. The lines on floor are only pickleball court lines. No confusion which lines to watch.
Staff is very rude. Sub-par equipment. Honestly wouldn't care about the price or antiquated equipment if the staff were nice.
It is super fun and a nice place for friends and family the food and water is a little overpriced so bring an extra 20 lol. Any one 90 percent reccomend.
Inflexible and unfriendly staff. Poor quality rink. Sad we have so few options in this area.
Not what we expected for being the areas only skate rink, especially for $11.00 EACH for adults and children to skate and rent skates. For what they offer, you’d expect to pay $4.00.
It is beginner pickleball night. We're thinking of starting. The facility is well laid out and one of the owners gave us a tour and explained how things work. The prices are considerably lower than another similar form of exercise. We were pleasantly surprised.
