Kabab King reviews
15Disgusting. Old left over food and only suit to very hungry people of that part of the world Very dirty place bad food and gang like staff. Not for a decent person to go there.
Where do I begin? Kebab King feels like the North Star of the Jackson Heights / Roosevelt station - the chicken kebabs are absolutely delicious & the tandoor is tender. I’ve bonded w/ my South Asian family here, have caught up with childhood friends on the 2nd floor over biriyani, and have brought new friends of diverse backgrounds to try a kebab sitting outside by the diversity plaza chairs. Yummy af
I was honestly disappointed with the taste of the food. My wife can make way better food than what was served. We were visiting from Canada and compared to the food quality we have here, it was a true disappointment. The restaurant was on the 2nd floor, the stairs were nasty and the decor of the restaurant was so busy that it felt like walking into a cheap restaurant. If a restaurant had served me food that looked like theirs, I would've walked out. The kadhai chicken had oil floating till the top of the bowl and was touching the servers' fingers. This was nasty and tells me that the gravy was not hot enough.lol
Jokes apart, I'd never go back to this place again. Gordon Ramsey needs to go here and give them a makeover and tell them to use less oil.
I highly doubt that cook knows the Pakistani taste, the food tastes nothing like Pakistani cuisine.
The services are poor, I asked if they have a set up upstairs for family but they asked us to sit downstairs which I believe is for the people having snacks. A really cramped up place downstairs with too many people walking around. Later we found out about upstairs when they told the female restroom is upstairs.
Even if I minus the whole sitting thing, the food may not meet your expectations if you have tried Chicago’s Devon street or Toronto’s Pakistani food.
Food are really delicious. It was a turkey food. We took the family meal and it was worth it.
Horrible food, biryani was old and tasteless, the place is un hygienic, food was cold.
Please please if you need good dont go there.
I used to go here years ago, when the food was actually good. But I went twice recently. A few months ago, they served old goat curry and old butter chicken. I went again a few days ago and was served raw chicken kebabs. We ordered some chicken biriyani and lamb chops too, but nothing had flavor. We couldn’t even taste salt.
As for service, no one came to check on us. We had to keep calling them to ask for water and stuff. And the designs are very tacky. The colors don’t match, missing tiles everywhere, etc. Restaurants in Bangladesh nowadays even look better than this.
I ordered "to-go" beef biryani. Visually it looked like colored boiled basmati rice mixed with boiled beef pieces. I am sure none of the biryani spices and condiments were added to it. Neither I could smell any fragrance emitting from the food. I also realized deep inside portions of meat were cold indicating it was insufficiently microwaved.
The environment was so badd.
No AC no fan
Don't know how they work.
Also the food going bad day by day
Bad experience.
Try the Lamb shanks and Lamb kebabs. Other foods are good too.
Restaurant owners should be concerned about the cleaning supplies and the restroom.
This restaurant is now owned by a different person, seems extremely cunning, it’s still running because so many new people come to New York every day, no one will go back there. I am coming to this place for last 20 years and things have gone down over the years but now a place you ever visit. Food quality is awful, they charging 15% gratuity for bulk to go items like tray of shikh kabab, on top of it charging 5% extra if you pay by credit card. They even don’t know how to make kabab anymore, I guess all cook have left.
A great Pakistani place in Jackson Heights. My friends brought me here to celebrate Eid and the food was super delicious and well priced.
We got the beef nihari which was super flavorful and the gravy was incredibley rich and delicious with their naan.
Their kebabs were spicy, flavorful, and tender! We got both the chicken and beef. With the chicken being the favorite.
Note they don’t serve tap water - you have to get bottled. I personally had my water bottle.
Lastly finish your meal with some Kashmiri chai which is sweeter and with a slight pink hue! Delicious!
Changed to one star, they only want your money! Went with a friend, No service? Don't want to order; had charged me extra, seriously, no tissues. Don't no there
No hand soap in either bathroom, not sure what the employees are doing when they go to the bathroom. Gross.
No frills Kabab spot serving up desi cuisine for decades. Not known for its service or hospitality so it reminds you of back home lol. Sometimes the food is hit or miss since they cook so much but usually the kabab, naan, biryani and curries are a hit. Delicious chai as well to end the meal.
