Most relaxing, amazing place to come and enjoy the atmosphere and relax, I believe it's the only one in the United States, and it's located here upstate New york and is open to the public, Beautiful temple

Serene temple with well maintained and mossy trails. Volunteers were helpful and friendly. We went to meander on the grounds, which were open to the public. Worth visiting.

Exceptional place. Well kept and clearly marked walking paths, beautiful garden, peaceful ponds. Bathrooms are clean and accessible.

Sign from the highway and wanted to know what was the deal. Follow the labyrinth of roads to this beautiful place. The people were so nice and very open to answering any questions I have. I do not belong to this religion and had many questions about the things around the facility. I was constantly met with friendly faces and smiles very open to answering any of my questions. Definitely worth the 15-minute detour.

Lost a loved one and full of grief decided to take a drive. Found this place out of the blues and decided to go in and see what it was. Everyone was so kind and inviting. Went into the temple (of course without my shoes as it is disrespectful not to for the above commenter complaining about taxes and shoes) It was so beautiful and peaceful. Wonderful place to meditate. So glad I found it, I will be back soon.

Amazing just amazing. Getting here is a lovely ride from Jersey. The Meditations are deep and with a good timeline. I was very comfortable here it feels like a home can't wait to go back.

It's a beautiful campus with a lovely temple and a great community of both those who live on-site and those who regularly visit. They offer classes to the public across the week, as well as holding special events such as silent retreats, weekend courses, and Buddhist festivals. They also offer affordable, homemade vegan or vegetarian meals as well as having a cafe with fresh espresso and baked goods. There is a book shop for all of the Kadampa books, as well as other Buddhist items and various things like soap, incense, beads, scarfs, and meditation cushions. There are also multiple rooms available for accommodation ranging from large dormitories to private rooms. I can't recommend visiting here, enough!

It's my favorite place to treat myself to a retreat! Learn about yourself, your mind, learn what is peace, inner peace.
People here are so kind and accommodating. Accommodations are excellent and food is cooked by a real chef!

I attended one five days of retreat in November 2023. Totally unexpected, I got spiritual lifting on the fourth date. Family life never be the same again. I would like to strongly recommend to everybody who wants to uplift themselves!

Coming to Kadampa Meditation Center is like coming home to my spiritual home! It's like a feeling of connecting to the most sublime potentials of the heart! I always feel better here and leave feeling grateful for what was revealed!

Wonderful experience was had by all. The week long meditation retreat was tranquil, informative but most of all deeply filled me with Wisdom. The food was fantastic and I made lots of new friends from all walks of life and different cultures. Everyone should be so fortunate to find this special Jewel nestled in the mountains of the Catskills and easily accessible. My wish for the world is that all of us find places of refuge such as this amidst the craziness of our current world situations. I will be back soon 100%

This is a sacred place of refuge, rest and transformation for me. The loving kind community, peaceful surroundings and precious teachings and guided meditations allowed me to feel safe to sit and explore deeply inside my own heart. In this place, I was able to access for first time to places inside my own mind I was afraid to explore or face. I always come back here, to heal and re-connect with my joyful intention to live a meaningful live embodying the divine feminine.

KMCNY is 2 hours from NYC and is a perfect retreat center where you feel rejuvenated after just one weekend. The courses are beautifully presented, the grounds are well kept with plenty of hiking trails, people are very, very friendly, accommodations are comfortable and extremely reasonably priced. The vegetarian and vegan food is excellent. It's my home away from home.
