Kalpins Express Auto Center, Rochester NY

Bought my wife a car from them in June. Within
roughly 6 weeks. I had to put a new exhaust system on it. ($500) In December (6 months) after buying the car I had to put a new transmission ($6500) in the car. I now understand why they were pushing the 3rd party service plan so hard.
So now with the parts and the cost of the car I'm now $17,500 in on a 10 year Subaru.
A day after I wrote this review. I just found out I need to put a starter in this car for another $200+
Talk about buyers remorse.

These guys are great! Very honest and fair prices. They don't try to sell you stuff you don't need. Highly recommend!

Came to this shop on a whim when my car began acting very erratic. Had no idea what the issue was or where to begin. Mr Kern took the time and exhibited immense patience explaining the problems to me, someone who knows next to nothing about cars. They worked fast and efficiently and gained a loyal customer. This was my first service at Kalpins and I was very impressed. I was treated courteously and with respect. The answers to my questions were thorough and made me feel at ease about the service being performed. My car was returned to me clean and in good shape. I would definitely recommend this shop.

I will always bring my vehicle here the staff is extremely friendly and welcoming. The mechanics are very thorough I have had alot of work done here and have not once had to bring my car back.

Got my car inspected with 0 issues at all. John Kern is a great service advisor, and got me in and out pretty fast. The atmosphere here isn't a stereotypical auto shop/dealer. 100% coming back from now on.

Don’t do these type of things often. Been a long time customer. Said they’d take my vehicle in today. Came in today and then they said they couldn’t take it til “sometime nxt week”. And The short human at desk was very dismissive. Had to find another place.

The service was fast and the guys were friendly and honest. Was my first time there but I will be going back for future car needs. They did have a really convenient way to setup appointments online but when I got there it didn't register in their system. They still got me in really fast so won't deduct stars for that just an FYI if you book online may want to call to confirm the appointment.
