Japanese Restaurant Kanoyama reviews
12Was looking for sushi options when my sister came to visit and this was close by my work. We sat at the bar and ordered a couple rolls and an appetizer which were all delicious! Was thinking of giving 4 stars cause I wish they had more variety but the food and service was excellent so the business deserves 5!
It’s rude customer disgusting food.fish was smells bad. I think they don't have (A) from Health Department. Guys we have to make sure before you go to Location. I have diarrhea problem
Excellent family style Japanese restaurant that serves incredibly fresh sushi at a very reasonable price. Whether you opt for the omakase counter or just sit at the sushi counter to order the dinner platter, service is great and the staff are extremely friendly. A very nice sake list rounds out the meal. This place also does excellent delivery.
After quarantine our still in quarantine, the best option, the attention was very friendly and good! The food amazing, thanks for everything!
Got the fried chicken to go. Wasn’t expecting to come and grab something to eat at here today. Was walking by and the food layout caught my attention. Chicken seemed to be standing out for a while. Fresh fried chicken would have been great.

Granted I came in while they were doing take out only and also was grabbing small bites. Am willing to give this place another shot. I do see other reviews and you can’t get a Michelin Star by accident.

Excited for restaurants to open again and I want to try more menu options!
Came here for Valentine's day. The food is pretty good, sushi is fresh, although it was prepared a little messy, probably because it was a busy night.which is likely why our order was messed up including the table next to us - getting the wrong items & not getting what we ordered. It was packed and space is very limited, everyone's squeezing through one another to pass, my chair constantly getting banged into when i was already sitting in as close as possible. Why do they have so many tables? It's clearly uncomfortable for the customers and the staff. I would suggest coming on a weeknight if you must come here.
Such a poor experience for a place that has received a Michelin star. The food was mediocre at best. And for the price, a complete rip off. However the service was atrocious. They didn't know the answers to basic questions about the menu, forgot parts of order, were slow to clear dirty dishes and empty bottles and waited 45 minutes between appetizers and our sashimi. We also asked how much longer our food would be because I saw the sushi chefs standing around doing nothing and then they brought out of food immediately, meaning that the food had been sitting there done for who knows how long. Overall, don't bother.
Love this sushi restaurant! I've been here a handful of times since being introduced to it by friends, and every time I've been sad to leave at the end of my meal. The sushi here is incredibly high quality for the price, and the ambiance of the restaurant is relaxed and comfortable!
Extremely rude waiter. I've never had this kind of horrible experience in any restaurant, let alone Japanese restaurant. I called to make a reservation, and they did not mention that omasake needs a special order. When we tried to order it, he said we can't. We're ok with that, and suggested that they tell their customers when they make reservation, and he started to argue with us. Will never come back.
I had really been looking forward to trying Kanoyama based on reviews. I cannot understand how it has a Michelin star. The food was nothing special. We ordered a sashimi entree which was great, but the vegetable tempura was average, and a pretty standard chicken teriyaki dish came with a handful of potato chips on the side of the plate - like you'd get with a sandwich in a deli or a pub. The service was poor too - our waitress was very brusque. Maybe it's a different experience for customers doing omakase in the room next door. Very disappointed, definitely won't be going again.
Very rude customer service. No one says hi when you walk in. Service was very bad & very slow. We waited for our sushi for an hour, while waiting patiently we asked for water but it took them forever to give us water. Will not recommend to any of our family members or friends. Bad customer service.
If you are just having nightly cravings like for ramen, this is a great place to go for a late night bite. Waiters and waitresses were extremely nice and friendly. At the time when I went it was nice and quiet with a bit of background music making the food that more enjoyable.
