Great place to eat and surprising affordable. Plates are in the $50-80 range - but me and my date got the Mutton and we shared it (without getting a drink) and the total bill including tip was $100 which is great given quality of food, service and location.

1- Menu = 5/5 All of the steakhouse favorites and well organized.
2- Reservations = 3/5 This restaurant takes a 4-6 weeks to get a prime reservation. One of the most popular restaurants in NYC.for a reason.
3 - Drinks = 5/5 Drinks were made proper and delivered fast.
4 - Food = 10000/10000. Seafood Tower was fresh and plentiful. Steakhouse Bacon was thick, delicious and 3 pieces! Porterhouse steak was simply amazing. Extremely well marbleized and cooked exactly the way we wanted, very large and not drowned in butter. Probably the best steak we have tasted in all the steak houses we have been too. Simply amazing. Mutton chop was good and this was the first time we tried this meat. Yes we had both, Portorhouse for 2 and Mutton Chop. Sides were very good and big enough to share.
5 - Service = 5/5 Professional, polite, and precise.
6 - Ambiance = 5/5. This restaurant is over 135 years and has all that old world steakhouse charm you would expect.
7- Cleanliness = 5/5 Place looked clean.
8- Dining space for patrons = 5/5 Our table was larger than most steakhouse tables in Manhatten. Lucky us we order a bunch of food.
9 - Cost = $$$$/$$$$$. 4/ 5 What you would expect from a top tier restaurant in Manhatten.
10 - Value = 5/5. This place is actually less expensive than most of the other top tier steakhouses in Manhatten. Incredible value.
11 - Location = 5/5 Accessible from all mass transit.

Explored this legendary steakhouse in historic New York City, and it truly lives up to its iconic status.
The mutton was both delicious and tender, while the steak, though decent, didn't quite match my expectations. The salmon, on the other hand, was a juicy and flavorful highlight.
Yet, the salad seemed overwhelmed with dressing.
For dessert, the key lime was a delicious, refreshing finale. Additionally, the Maryland Crab Cakes were superbly delicious, with a perfect balance of flavors and a delightful texture, making it a standout dish for me.

My favorite place is the bar. Amazing bartenders. Food is perfect. We usually get the iced wedge salad, lobster bisque, and the T-bone steak. Martinis are perfect

Really been wanting to go since before the pandemic and was so worth the wait! My first wife took the family for my birthday. We had the big boys with us, so we ordered the meats. I love lamb, and the giant mutton chop was tasty and tender. We like it Pittsburgh style and Keens delivered. Charred outside but still RARE. Thick Porterhouse for 2 was similarly cooked to perfection. The younger guy had a medium rare filet and would not even share. Wedge salad with homemade blue cheese was excellent. Creamed spinach was a great side. The guys also had ice cream sundaes for desert, which were delicious. Service was top-notch. Our servers were friendly, professional, and accommodating. Asked for a whiskey recommendation because they had over a hundred, and they took the time to make me happy. Great old-fashioned steakhouse vibe. You also need to take the time to walk around to view all the history that is displayed. Took us a bit over an hour to drive into NYC, but parking garage across the street was easy. A truly wonderful dining experience with the family. What a lucky guy.

Exactly what a NY steakhouse should be and more. Every menu item we ordered had the table wow-ed. Especially perfect for a group meal.

Menu highlights: the bacon, the hashbrown, the porterhouse, the fillet mignon and the mutton.

I have been here several times over the years and never tried the mutton. What a critical mistake. Porterhouse is great, etc. But my goodness the mutton is phenomenal. Already planning my next visit. Sit at bar. Eat mutton. Drink a glass of wine. It gets no better.

A New York institution; has yet to lose it's character. Always exceptional in every way, service really shines as the staff are the nicest and most professional people by which you could have the pleasure of being served. For some weird reason, EVERY SINGLE TIME we order the filet mignon it comes out scorched to some degree of inedibility, but Keens always makes things right.

The menu is perfectly balanced, delicious sides and small plates; cannot and will not stop ordering the prime rib. Thank you Keens for showing up in ways other chophouses can't.

The steak is really overrated and it was undercooked when it came out. Go to benjamins steakhouse, much better quality steak.

A true old school New York dining experience with an ambience that is second to none. It's not perfect, but definitely a must visit.

We celebrated my wife's birthday here on a random Tuesday in January and the restaurant was bustling and completely packed. Hence, please be sure to book your table well in advance.

We were seated promptly in the dining room adjacent to the entrance. What atmosphere! One is truly taken back by the incredible decor of pipes on the ceiling and the most perfect lighting. The tables are very close to each other, but it was not really a problem.

Our server was nice and efficient, but the service did seem a bit rushed. The pace of the dinner was very fast, in fact this was the fastest service I have experienced, ever! Our drinks, cocktails and appetizer were brought like within one minute of the order. This was almost too fast to truly take in the experience.

The food was very good to outstanding. The appetizer of thick cut bacon was a but thick and a but too salty for our liking. The mutton chop was an interesting cut, but a bit too much bone and fat for me. However, the mint jelly was a very nice addition.

The star of the evening was definitely the New York strip sirloin. Massive, juicy and perfectly cooked. On par with some of the best steak we ever tasted.

The side dishes and New York cheesecake were very average, even a bit of a letdown. I know we had a better slice of cheesecake in Columbus.

Overall, this is still a New York institution that deserves a visit. Pricey, but you are in New York city. I would rate it 4.5 out of 5.

Excellent experience, but the bar should not be overlooked for a great place to grab drinks.pricey, obviously, but they have incredible brown liquor options, and bartenders are second to none!

Keens Steakhouse was on my MUST GO! Restaurant list for long time. Since my friend suggested, I decided to spend my birthday dinner at the place. The restaurant was known for old famous in NYC. I have mixed feelings about the place to be honest, if I came to this restaurant ten years ago, I would be more impressed and excited. As a New Yorker who love trying new places and food, I have to say with lots of competition of industry.

Our server was professional and gave us an excellent service. I'm not crazy about the tables are close to each other too much. Somehow, I feel like I'm in time square with full of tourist (please don't get offended nothing wrong but it just makes me feel if I'm in the right place)

Food was good and steak was great as advertised.
- Raws bar/ dozen of Clams: compare to all clams I had before in my life, I think this dish just not as good as I expected. The smell is too strong and has some sand in it. When I spend extra in the restaurant, I expect a better quality than this.
- T-Bone was great: can't complain and the portion is big!
- Surf & Turf: streamed Lobster and Fillet Mignon is wonderful.
- Side dish are a bit over price, string beans, fries, boiled asparagus.
- Dessert is okay, maybe is not just my style.

Overall, it is good steakhouse and will be wonderful for visitor and family.

The food was great! We had the porterhouse for two, sautéed broccoli and colliflower, and the lobster bisque. We weren't partial to the bisque (just personal preference) and accommodated us by removing it from the bill. Steak and vegies.aewsome! I'm not a steak sauce person either, but I took a chance on their house sauce and was blown away! The homemade carrot cake was one of the best we've had also. We loved the atmosphere of the restaurant. We'd DEFINITELY recommend Keens Steakhouse to anyone.
