Japanese Restaurant KENKA reviews
15On average the food is really good, it's also very well priced so sometimes you just get what you pay for but I enjoy the entire menu a few dishes at a time along with my traditional beer tower. Get there early because the line builds up quick. Really wish they'd just update and reprint those busted menus already =]
Food is okay, but too many people, and we've been waiting for a long time, they crossed out our names without calling us.
A shell of what once was. Super dark and disorganized, understaffed.feels like a victim of the pandemic and wondering if they changed owners… foods still pretty good tho, even if it arrives cold
You wouldn’t understand the appeal this place has and I won’t tell you. Go for yourself and absolutely love it, or be a pampered Tofu brick and go to Starbucks.
Prices have gone up but the food is still some what good, service needs to be better. Shouldn’t take me 10 plus mins of me trying to get the waiters attention.
It's really good value for money, but if you want too much food taste, it's okay.
If you wish, you're a bitch.
Instead, the drinks are very cheap and the employees are very friendly.
Recommended place to go for a drink with friends.
My last visit was actually great, food was much better then some previous visits
Im happy this place has bounced back, regardless it will forever be one of my favorite restaurants in NYC
Terrible service, amazing food and atmosphere. 45 min wait to get in, 25 min wait to see server, had to ask multiple times to get things. I wouldn't go again, but it had an experience hard to have anywhere other than Japan. I hope the service improves in the future, hiring more people would help for sure
Food was so good, however the server was rude and impatient. We were a group of 12 and he got 3/4ths of the order wrong.
Good cheap japanese options; a lot of comfort food.the interior decor (especially in the back) is certainly a choice.overall it's very loud in the restaurant which could be very overstimulating. I got the okonomiyaki which is something I don't really see anywhere else and it was tasty.
The atmosphere was very cool but there was water dripping from the ceiling in multiple spots. The food was oily and immediately left a bad taste in the mouth. Came hungry, left hungry and with a stomach ache, definitely would not recommend.
Over rated! Been there three times and each was an unpleasant experience! Once our waitress simply threw our menus on the table and walked away without saying any greetings. When we tried to order, she tried to walk away when we weren't even finished speaking. The food is ok for the price but the air in that place just smells weird. Their tap water tastes filthy too. This place gave me an impression that they're so famous so they don't even try to perform any good services
The food took extremely long to come, we just decided to cancel it and pay for the little things that did come. The music was also super loud so it was hard for the workers to notice everyone. Super slow service, don’t recommend.
Food was great. The sashimi was too fishy. The interior design is slightly disturbing. However, it is very crowded on weekends and price is pretty affordable.
They need to fix their heating problem in the winter. Very cold if you're sitting in the front of the restaurant. Great food, only place I've been to state side that reminds me of my time living in Japan with some of the more uncommon dishes. *NOT* kid friendly. There was a pornographic poster at the entrance that totally caught us off guard. Gave us a startled laugh, luckily our kid wasn’t with us.
