Keuka Lake Vineyards reviews
17We had a nice wine tasting and took home a few bottles. Very friendly server who was knowledgeable about the selection.
Loved tasting in the barn. The views off the back deck were wonderful. The wine is good as well. Good selection of dry wines some of which were VERY good.
You won't regret stopping in here on your wine tour of Keuka Lake. Good Riesling, and some fantastic reds too. Friendly staff, nice tasting barn ambience.
In the last few years, the tastings have moved to the barn to given them a bigger space. Very nice space with great wines!
We had a terrible experience at this vineyard all because of one staff member with short brown hair and glasses. We have never felt so uncomfortable- we went right up the street to another winery and had a wonderful experience! I am not sure if that woman is the owner, but she alone is the reason I will never recommend this vineyard.
Top notch Rieslings. Warm and welcoming staff. The Barn is a beautiful tasting room with a stunning view from the deck.
Service was terrible! From start until the five minutes we were there… completely unwelcomed. Left without trying any wine.
If I could give it 0 stars I would. The girl working was so miserable and unwelcoming towards us we actually decided to leave before we could even do a tasting.
We decided to pass by a vineyard on our way back from Letchworth and Keuka Lake Vineyards was one of those open during Easter. I read from the reviews how good their Rieslings were so we decided this would be the perfect place to go to.
Luckily, Mel, the owner was there and we had the most informative tasting of their wine. He started us with their famous dry Riesling and I loved it from the get-go. My favorites are their dry rieslings and vignoles.
For an additional $5 you can sample their rare bottles which includes the Falling Man. One of my favorite is their Turkey Run vignole.
I love how their grapes are sustainably grown and that they do not use herbicides. On warmer days you can have an outdoor seat with a beautiful view of the sapphire waters of Keuka Lake. We will definitely be back soon.
The barn is very cute and intimate. The wine was pretty good as well. Unfortunately the service we received here was awful. We did come with a big group and without a reservation, which I understand is a nightmare in the service industry, especially when you’re solo behind the bar. But that said, it could’ve been handled so much better. I would rather be turned us away for lack of reservation instead of the bartender begrudgingly serving us and making snide comments about us being there. It was just plain uncomfortable. Unfortunately I cannot recommend this place. Had much better service at Barrelhouse 6 Distillery just up the road.
Excellent wine quality and knowledgeable staff. We felt very welcomed and were treated with utmost respect. Awesome older wine selection and rustic vibe. Not as commercial as some of the other wineries in the area, but much more inviting.
A friend and I visited several FL wineries last week. This was the first on the day we scheduled with Finger Lakes Transport which allowed us to relax and enjoy all that wine!
Our hostess was knowledgeable about their wines and the history of winemaking in the FL AVA. Their wines tend to be on the drier side and quite tasty, even though we lean toward off-dry. Blends are not noted on the tasting menu, but hostess provided that info. I was anxious to try the Vignoles Method Ancestral (AKA "Pet Nat) and found it to be a pleasant, dry sparkly.
Another review commented on the lack of view from the tasting room (an historic barn), but outside provides a lovely view of their vineyards, Seneca Lake, and vineyards up the east side of the lake.
Our tasting was rushed and the girl who served us did not know details about the wine. She did not honor our reservation and charged us twice for our tastings. Called to have this fixed and the girl who answered was rude and claimed they did not have the charge on their end. Very disappointed with the service from this winery.
We made a reservation for a visit Sunday August 1st.staff was unfriendly and unhelpful.we tasted 12 wines … with no attention from staff.some of the wines were pretty good, but not as good as Hermann J. Wiemer.we didn’t buy any.wouldn’t visit again.
Don’t be fooled by the no frills barn setup, Keuka Lake Vineyards is making some awesome wine. They have a solid variety, and some older bottles so you can appreciate the impact aging has (specifically Riesling and Cab Franc). They also had a killer Pet Nat Vignoles.
If you want lake views and a beautiful porch or estate, maybe skip this one, but if you want to appreciate some of the best wines FLX has to offer it’s a must visit.
Great wine tasting experience 3/26. Favorite winery! So appreciate ALL your efforts especially Mel, Katie and Carla. Your wine club is the best. Truly making the highest quality of wines you are known for in the Finger-lakes area and beyond.
Recommend a reservation for a larger group. Our party had a great wine tasting experience with Karla. We all thoroughly enjoyed her presentation and detailed descriptions of each wine. Probably one of our favorites on our visit to the area. Thank you!
