I highly recommend Kevin Anderson Associates. I was very satisfied with my experience with everyone there, from the editorial project manager, Lauren, to the editorial director, Mark, to the executive editor, Jennifer. Each one was personable, trustworthy, timely, and demonstrated high professional expertise. The result was my query letter was greatly improved, and my manuscript received very detailed and helpful suggestions, which I immediately implemented. A great service.

I asked Kevin Anderson for a book review. The editor I was paired with, David Cashion, was both encouraging and surgically accurate. We are all too often isolated in our own discovery process and become blind to self-imposed limitations. It is great to have someone of David’s experience to show you what you have missed, what can be improved, and what is out there in the realm of possibilities. Now, back to the drawing board.

I had worked on my debut novel for over two years. It had been through professional editing and self-editing. I started to research editors and had the good fortune to find Kevin Anderson & Associates. I realized I needed new eyes on my manuscript.
My first impression was positive as the website is navigable and informative. I uploaded the manuscript for quick feedback and heard from Mark Weinstein later the same day and followed up with a zoom meeting the next day.
Instead of a full edit, I opted for a Critical Review and Analysis. Lauren Downey, the project manager, contacted me to inform me that she was searching for an editor to fit my project. Two weeks later, I agreed, and my manuscript was in the skilled hands of my editor, who had expertise in the area of religious themes and was a perfect fit for my subject matter.
Six weeks later, I received the Critical Review and Analysis. The edits were brilliant and made it easy to return to the manuscript for further work and self-editing. I followed up with a one-hour phone conference with my editor. I am now working on the manuscript, and when I finish, I will send it off again to my editor for another Critique and Review.
The company works with many high-powered writers. Do not allow that to intimidate you. The company has something to offer across the board.
I initially thought I had two books in the series but have discovered they needed to be split into three of four. I will be working with Kevin Anderson and Associates throughout the process.

Kevin Anderson and Associates have been very helpful in getting my novel moving in the right direction. After writing my first novel I was not sure where to turn. I decided to work with KAA and they provided excellent direction. One of their editors performed a thorough edit which improved the manuscript by 20-30 percent. Then they helped helped me getting going on the query process by writing a concise query letter for my project and filling me in in some of the finer aspects of submitting to agents. Their team has been very available, timely, and professional.

For the first-time author, there are a fair number of insecurities to be addressed. Kevin Anderson and Associates not only bolstered my strengths, but also helped me to enhance those areas in which I was lacking, thusly eliminating considerable self-doubt. Professional, attentive, and awfully friendly, KAA helped me polish my first novel, but they have also provided me with a solid editorial foundation for my career as I move forward. 100% recommend!

1 for poor customer service. Seemed like they were more interested in their own agenda than helping me with finishing my book. He told me editing my book was a waste of his time. Just wasn’t very nice in my opinion.

KAA proved to be very helpful in the development of my novel, North Table Mountain. This sci-fi coming of age story has an intricate plot line and multiple characters. This required a patient editor who did not hesitate to tell me when "things were getting out of hand". With the extensive notes provided by the KAA editor, Amanda, I was able to improve the manuscript significantly. I look forward to working with KAA further on my novel.

Kevin Anderson performed a Critical Review and Analysis of my manuscript, written by one of their editors. I was pleased that in addition to line by line editing of grammatical errors and punctuation, which was in itself quite helpful, the editor suggested numerous areas where I might expand on the dialogue and change the flow of thoughts to make the text read more engagingly. She commented on strengths, but more usefully suggested improvements that would make the story more readable. The review was completed earlier than I expected, and I was very happy with the value of the services that I received.
