Kings County Supreme Court, Criminal Term reviews
2 Judge for IDV2 is extremely one-sided very polite towards the female group and rude and unprofessional towards male group.
Her judgments are Bias and hurtful and harmful towards families which are already facing the hardship and hardest time of their life.
Personally i am a victim of domestic violence as a man, filed for divorce, ACS did the investigation and Indicated mother of my child of abuse and maltreatment of the child.
Knowing all that she is still not allowing me unsupervised visitation. I am just worried about the safty of my child, and she is intentionally putting my child in danger.
I am writing this knowing that she might get offended and hurt me more. But i have to the right to free speech, and no one can take it from me.
Grand Jury Review: Honestly, it was pretty decent. Remember, this is Brooklyn, so not everyone is going to be like the younger, more fun group in Manhattan, so be sure to come with an open mind ready for disagreement. The very beginning, they tell you flat out they aren't going to interview or allow you to make excuses. Only certain things would get you out of Grand Jury service, so consider yourself lucky you were chosen. Once chosen, you either are given a two week, one month, or even six month long term which you must complete. I think you could only miss around half of the days to consider your service complete. It can be postponed if it's your first time.
Anyway, you're to sit at a court room waiting for indictment charges to come in. It can be an exciting, jam packed day, or a super slow, waiting for something to happen type of day. Plenty of outlets, so bring your charges. Unfortunately, the wifi was a little spotty in my court room so i couldn't get much done from my seat when there weren't any cases.
Some cases were interesting, others were kinda boring. It's nothing like TV and it's not very exciting procedure, but it can be pretty cool and informative. You will be working almost exclusively with the prosecutors whose main goal is to land a charge or two. It's cool and an interesting part of our judicial system. Whether or not it's effective/useful is your opinion, which shouldn't factor into your judgment.
I had a pretty relaxed court experience and mostly left earlier than expected. I, fortunately, had my job pay me at the same time so I wasn't left screwed out of my mind, but I can understand why the grand jury can be a horrible experience.
Anyway, not the worst experience for my first time and eight years free from here after that one time.
