It's hard to find a good hair stylist in this city, but Hiro is amazing. A friend of mine recommended Kiwa Salon to me a few years ago and I've never looked back.

Very professional and comforting service. They let me change my cut completely since I initially asked for the wrong thing. Made sure to tip nicely.

Getting my haircut here for several years. Junko is my stylist. Junko is highly skilled. Attentive, suggestive and can identify the look you are seeking. Above all else, Junko is the most consistent hair stylist I have ever seen.

In the past I used to go to several different stylists, many Japanese stylists. They were also great. However, after some time many stylists become less attentive and this is a deal breaker for me.

Junko is always giving her best and I can truly trust her insight. Her recommendations are great. Junko is amazing to work with any hair style and hair type for all people of all cultures. I am a white guy and Junko understands my hair very well. She is able to identify strengths and weaknesses and utilize them to your advantage.

Junko is also fun, friendly.

Hiro did an amazing job with my Japanese permanent straightening and haircut. He's such a perfectionist and patient with everything he did. Couldn't ask for a better experience despite it taking nearly 4 hours. The cost was around $360 without tip. Totally worth it!

Exceptional and polite service along with excellent hairdressers, Kiwa is my go to hair salon. It's definitely on the luxury side with an expensive price but if you can afford it, it's definitely an experience and a great place for your haircut.

Great experience. After relocating from California I was hesitant to let anyone cut my hair. I was in great hands! Misaki took great care of me & did an excellent job. Beyond my expectations. The young lady who washed my hair & gave me a massage was excellent as well. Everyone was nice & welcoming. Can’t wait to go back for my color & trim.

I thoroughly enjoyed the service I received at Kiwa! I booked my appointment via email (instructions listed on their website). The facility is clean with everyone adherent to mask rules. Hiro was the one who took care of me from start to finish, which included a wonderful shampoo (I forgot how nice this is having not had a salon haircut since pre-pandemic), some light head and neck massaging, and a thorough but efficient and very clean haircut. I will definitely be visiting again!

FYI: they are located on the second floor so you’ll have to go around the corner passed the restaurant to find the entryway.

I’ve been there many times and it was ok but this time the worst hair cut ever! I normally don’t complain in anything even I don’t like but this time was terrible. The guy who cut my hair didn’t know how to cut, I’m not hair stylist but I could really see it!

I love my hair stylist Juko- she’s so good! I’ve been to Kiwa over 15 years and always work with their top stylist and never got disappointed.

I've tried to make an appointment 3 different times, but I couldn't continue all 3 of trials because of the receptionist, better to talk with a wall. She asks endless questions and images of my hair before talking about an appointment. I assumed that she worries about potential damage from hair products. I told that I wouldn't mind if there is any hair damage from the product. She just continues with unnecessary questions and images of my hair. I do hair pretty often here and there to change style. Not all time satisfied, but hair grows quickly. I tried 3 times because this place is just few blocks away from my home, and now I am done with this place even before having any service because of the receptionist who is impossible to get through. I am running a business as well and this extreme cautious behavior does more harm than good to your own business.

Always get great service here and leave feeling happy. Misaki is the best hairdresser in NYC!
