Terrible customer service, if you don’t like your job you can leave. I walk in here with questions and leave wanting to never use a camera again. So dismissive and terrible demeanors. The color spot next door has better service than this place and only 1 person works there. If you need equipment and can pick things up without having to much question for these people, it’s a good spot, but if you have to engage with anyone in this store, abort mission!

I called at 5: 30pm and they said they were open until 7pm. I went all the way into the city to have a lens looked at, and they were closed already by 6: 15pm… wasted my time.

Seems like par for the course as I read into the low reviews. Poorly managed.

Extremely rude and unprofessional. Just trying to buy a camera annd even offered extra for just one part of the camera. Came there with nothing but respect but immediately got talked down to.

There are some really helpful employees here, but also some who are rude. It's pretty obvious who is who.

The manager here is an absolute tool, he is so rude. The workers are really nice, but the manager tries to up-charge on all of the equipment there are many more places in NYC that are better for prints/scans or purchasing/selling camera equipment. Any of the film cameras he is selling are marked up to be about double what their true price is, do not come here - even as a last resort take your chances buying something on eBay over K&M.

Alternate developer to go to - The Color House

Alternate camera supplier - 42nd street photo or Adorama or Foto Care

This place can be a little intimidating, one of the staff (manager) can be loud and come of as rude, and some people can and seem to have be taken aback. However, if you come into the space expecting that he is actually very funny and him and the other employees seem to pull each others legs in a joking way. The person who rung me up was very fun, and both of them knew what they were talking about (I wanted to buy an Olympus OM-1). Don't be too intimidated! Try to just have a good time talking about cameras and be baseline respectful and you will probably be good.:)

Just spoke to an incredibly rude, young employee just now on the phone. Absolutely no expertise or knowledge of camera and snarkily brushed off my questions. POS.

Wouldn’t recommend unless you know everything about the gear you’re looking for. Otherwise You will get ripped off.

Definitely do not come here for prints or scans of your film. Got messed up, useless prints every time i went here and waited over a month for new ones— never got em. The digital files were also misaligned, and i had to wait crazy long to get new ones. Just go to sammys around the corner.

Staff can be pushy and rude. Selection is okay.
Just rather not all together but it’s closer than other stores.

Bought a large amount of film here for a good price and the young guy who served me was super friendly and helpful. Went back a week or so later and wanted to take a look at some used medium format gear and the older guy who served me had a very odd demeanour - quite rude and dismissive, and didn't have any knowledge of the cameras I was asking to look at. The combination of ignorance and arrogance was quite odd. Great range of gear, but wish I could have been served by somebody else and I might have actually been able to buy something, but honestly, there was no way I was going to buy anything from this guy the way he was speaking to me. Seems others have had the same issue.

Despite being very busy, Manny spent time throughly explaining to me how to clean my old film camera after buying a cleaning kit there. Above and beyond service!

Got photos developed here and they came back extremely washed out, almost as if taken with a disposable. Really poor communication about when they would be ready as well. Stick with Luster!

Manny, the guy who works in the front checking gear that’s being returned, needs to be fired. He’s rude, a bully, and knows nothing about cameras. Even the other workers there know it. They need to get rid of this rat. With that said, the other employees there are fantastic. Do whatever you can to avoid manny or don’t go at all.

Bought an over priced camera here while on my trip to nyc. Knew it was overpriced but they were including a roll of film and a case to keep it safe. Plus it was going to be a fun souvenir for my husband and I. I even watched them put film in the camera, but then walk away to test it. Spent the whole trip taking pictures, really excited to get the film developed when I got home. When I went to remove the film and get it ready to travel back home with me, I found out the camera was empty. No film. Very disappointed. Lost lots of could have been great memories. Definitely won't be back.

Looking to downsize and get a few boxes of camera stuff recycled to interested people. Called and got a calm helpful "yes we can do that".

I've been to most camera stores/ rental places in Manhattan to get things for clients, this is my LEAST favorite. Although the store itself is large & in a convenient location, I only go here when I absolutely have to. The management is SO SO SO rude everytime I've been here. The regular staff & workers are really nice, it just seems like the people in charge suck. I'd go anywhere else if you can.

The owner is such an unpleasant man. They sold me a defective camera and wouldn’t return it.

If you see this, I cried after my interaction with you which consisted of you yelling. You can’t have a polite, civilized conversation with anybody. You maltreat humans.

I’m not sure why everyone is slamming this spot - I’m from out of town and here for work… needed to grab film and a few supplies. Nothing out of the ordinary, normal prices and person helping me promptly got what I needed.
