The loss of my mother was very difficult for me and on top of all that I didn’t know what my next step was. Not only did Knight Auchmoody do a beautiful job of honoring my mother but they made everything go so smoothly for me. I feel like I made a friend for life and will be forever grateful.

My mother-in law passed away January 30th 2023 and that was the first time we had met the new owner of Knight Auchmoody Funeral home. My family and my husband’s family have always used Knights for all our services as it has always been comforting and assuring in such difficult times. The new proprietor Michael Horkan is continuing the same ease and compassion as the previous owners.
On April 1st 2023 my beautiful 34-year-old Niece unexpectedly passed and it took the life right out of me and my family. We called on Michael again to handle everything and without hesitation he immediately took all the weight off our shoulders and was there every step of the way and then some.
Michael and his staff were, compassionate, kind, and professional from start to finish. He handled everything with the sensitivity and ease needed in the difficult area of death. The day we had to come and sign off on documents, select urns, and complete everything was very difficult. But I never felt rushed, prodded, or like it was business as usual. All the logistical items were clear, and he took the time to explain everything in detail. Michael, definitely took our feelings and emotions seriously and that was very much appreciated.
Michael and his staff showed great respect and care throughout. When I recently called and requested a document, Michael was very responsive and provided the information I needed right away. No hoops to jump through, or multiple calls to make. I highly recommend them.

My mother in law passed away in February 2023. All week this week and of course over the past couple months my husband had been in contact with the funeral director Michael. We constantly confirmed the date and time for her long awaited service.

Monday i believe, we were told we needed to pay $1000 prior to service which we were never told about prior to. Okay fine no problem.
We’re all at the cemetery waiting for Michael to get there, 230,3 rolls around. The military service was waiting for him as well.
So my husband calls Michael, he’s not coming, he has a prior engagement. Had we known that NO ONE was going to show up to conduct a service we PAID for and what she deserves, we would have had a speech or something prepared. We had several people out of town, who came specially for her service.

We got there with mom and dad, we placed them on the table, had the military send off and said our goodbyes and the groundskeeper that was absolutely lovely by the way placed them in the ground after letting us take so much of his time up when we were just talking and he didn’t want to interrupt us. I think he waited two hours for us because he didn’t want to be disrespectful and do it in front of us but we were far enough away and distracted. (Pine Grove)
As if the grieving process isn’t hard enough. I am so disgusted. I have never in my life expected this from a professional.

We were also told by Michael our important documents that were given to him in February were in the mail and on their way to us. It’s end of May and have not seen them.

We have always used this funeral home in the past and i have to say this has NEVER happened. My father in law passed in 2021 and we requested the same services, which were perfect back then.

Great service and beautiful funeral home.
First, the place is beautiful, inside and out. It's clean, it smells good, and the inside has a comforting and homie ambience.
Second, the funeral director was so helpful. He listened to me speak about the good times with my father, when he didn't have to. He offered comforting words and helped turn a negative thought into a positive one.
And he made it easy for me, handling my father's cremation.
I am very happy with the services provided, and I am most grateful for a funeral director who is as empathetic and warming as he is.

Wow, where to even start on this amazing business! The absolute care my loved one was given was breathtaking. She looked like she was just sleeping, that's how amazing she looked. Very professional and extremely helpful when it came to pricing and the services. All around great people.

Michael was an incredible person to work with throughout the entire process. His compassion towards ensuring that my family and I knew that our loved one was being cared for was far above and beyond what we expected. The viewing and service were done beautifully. Mike is extremely kind and professional, he was very helpful with everything and not that I'm trying to get back there anytime soon. I'd highly recommend him. The people in this establishment or the most amazing people in our time of need. The funeral home went above and beyond what they were even supposed to. Attending a visitation is always difficult, especially when the service is for an infant. Michael Horkan, Knight-Auchmoody's funeral director, treated the family and visitors with great respect and made our grieving more bearable with his kindness and warmth.
