Went to Kokomo for brunch during a girls trip and it was amazing! The aesthetics of the restaurant was beautiful. Every corner was a photo op. I felt like I was transported to the Caribbean. The food was very good and flavorful. I had the oxtail flatbread, seafood cakes, French toast with chicken all were 10/10. Drinks were also yummy! Our waitress Tasha was professional, helpful and kind! I will def be back!

After seeing a couple of shorts on Instagram about this place. I decided to give them a shot. The food looked so enticing. For starters, we ordered the Ackee stuffed plantains which were very tasty and presented well. For drinks, we went with the mango rum punch. Not bad but nothing to brag about….
For entrees I had the Calypso burger priced at a whopping 38 bucks! I was expecting a delicious burger for that price. I often travel around the city searching for good burgers and cuisines. Awww……. This burger is not one of them
It was very dry and tough. I ordered it medium well and it was still dry. 38 bucks?

My guest ordered the oxtails that’s served with rice and peas along with seasonal vegetables. The oxtails, although very tender, were also very salty. I noticed a few other reviews of Kokomo mentioning the meals are salty
For dessert, I went with the bread pudding. Not bad. I recommend you try it.

Overall, the service was great. Our server was friendly and informative, and checked on us frequently. We would have given her an additional tip. The gratuity was included in the overall 175 dollars tab. But I couldn’t pay anymore for a dry burger and salty oxtails….

We had the BEST experience at Kokomo, one of my favorite places in New York — and ever. My husband and I had been for brunch with friends so when my nana, aunt, and cousin came to town, we knew we wanted to take them here to experience the full brunch: the oxtail and rasta pasta flatbreads, the plantini (our favorite), and the crab cakes. We picked at everything between a few entrees (those chicken and waffles and bananas foster are to die for) and appetizers, and not one single thing was bad. In fact, they weren’t good. They were beyond excellent. Little did we know, my parents called the restaurant so they could arrange a surprise arrival from out of town. The Kokomo team helped coordinate and were so kind. They even gave us a free platter of all these desserts to try! Our server was amazing. We’re coming back over and over for sure. Can’t recommend enough between the hospitality and the food — a great place for reservations!

As much as I like to support my small businesses I would have to say my experience was not a pleasant one. Will definitely not be returning!

Doors were locked upon entry had to find someone to open the doors, walked in host said a 20 minute wait for 2 people, waited at the bar, bar didn’t serve food while waiting, then host came over to advise an updated 45 minute wait. Decided to go to the many other restaurants around Williamsburg with no wait. You are better off at Sea Thai or Tacombi Mexican.

The food was amazing and the service was great, but the prices are wild! $12 for a side of plantains? Chile.

Great place to dine.
Ambiance is everything and the food was good. My drinks were not the best but I'll be back because the DJ was a vibe.

This is a trendy Williamsburg place for young to middle aged adults. If you are over 55 yo 60, it might not the best atmosphere. However, it is not a bad place. Very popular and busy establishment.

I went with a friend, but we were both to old I think for this place but, it was a nice well run establishment

Went here for the first time and the Oxtail Flatbread is ridiculously amazing. We had Kojo hour (happy hour) with drinks and bought the creamy Painkiller as well which was so good. Atmosphere was wonderful for a date night. Can’t wait to go back and highly recommend for Caribbean food, great rum drinks and vibe. #Classy

Went with a small group of 3 and we had a nice time! Here are the details!

Atmosphere:

Very, very lovely ambience! Excellent music and it wasn't too loud, we could talk at decent levels and hear each other just fine. Lots of bar space! The bathrooms were spotless! They had these really cute swing bench seats - nice to take a photo on. Only improvement I could suggest is very small - add some hooks to the ladies room stalls. Not sure if there's a coat check, but hooks for coats near tables would be ideal. There is enclosed outdoor seating but I would consider it warm but not warm enough for me to feel comfy in winter. But if cooler is your jam, there's plenty of room and it's very cozy at the same time.

Service:

Really good service. Friendly, conscientious and prompt. Our orders were correct. Only snafu was the temperature of the meat of one dish. The venue took it off the bill and something else was chosen. No questions asked and apologies given. Service did get a tad spotty toward the end but that was only due to a shift change. Not faulting them for that. To make it easier for the staff, next time we know to arrive for brunch a bit earlier. Everyone was very nice!

Food:

Everything was great! Wonderful plating, well seasoned and unique options. The kokomosas were delicious! We had the sweet plantain pancakes, callaloo egg frittata, crab cake sliders, fries and sauteed Caribbean bowl. The portions were quite large for the frittata and pancakes. Definitely enough to share for like 3 people. If you don't eat meat or only seafood, this spot a good option. They do have a vegan options and GF! Pics included!

The overall vibe of the restaurant is really fun, good music etc. The food for the most part was yum. The lamb dish felt seriously over priced, but it tasted good thankfully. Their cocktails definitely not diluted. The service was good but at times a bit confusing, as certain things took long but no update was given till asked.
