SO DELICIOUS. The sushi i had there was just like the sushi I had in Kyoto. If you like or are curious about Japanese food come here. The cooked dishes were great also

This is a stellar restaurant with sublime sushi. The owners are a delight to talk to as well. The service here feels so personable and welcoming.

A welcoming staff and ever-changing and delicious menu of both cooked and raw Japsnese delights make Kondo a delight. For a special experience, sit at the indoor sushi counter, or at the outdoor (enclosed) bar.

I usually take-out. The sushi and sashimi is very good. The fish is very fresh. It is very authentic Japanese food. I think the portion is a bit too small and the price a bit too expensive. There is a Japanese super market next to the restaurant. Very convenient.

Lots of space between tables and throughout the restaurant. My two friends are sushi connaisseurs (I'm not) and we all noted how FRESH the SEA URCHIN was, top notch. The service was very friendly and efficient. The rest of the food (sushi, sashimi, tempura) was alas nothing special. I'll return just for the urchin!

A hidden gem in Astoria. Best value, super fresh and a very interesting variety of food to choose from.

VERY RUDE staff, all people included. Their online menu reflected lower prices and THEY DIDNT CARE. Not accountable, didn’t honor it or have any remorse. Selfish. I had to tell them to change it myself. The place is always empty anyway, I live close, go where you are respected as a customer it’s overpriced anyway.

Amazing sushi at very fair prices for the exceptional quality. The owner/chef (for which the restaurant is named) and his wife (who always has the best sake recommendations!) are both wonderful hosts and we always have an excellent meal here!

My favorite sushi and Japanese hospitality in Astoria. The food is always fresh, tasty, and expertly prepared, and the menu is always changing, reflecting the changing seasons and Chef’s creativity.

Perfect neighborhood sushi spot! We came here and had a eel bowl, some sushi and dessert. What stood out was that they served really high quality fish! We're definitely considering coming back for omakase at some point.

There are cheaper Japanese restaurants in the area, and omakase restaurants with equally/better quality fish in the city, but it just hits the perfect match of affordable QUALITY fish. So if you have an omakase craving, but want to spend $50ish/not spend money on actual omakase, I think this might hit the spot for you as it did for us!

Btw I think their omakase is now 90-100? I don't recall

Amazing atmosphere, the chef’s are funny and make the experience 10x better while sitting infront of them, makes it worth every penny. A great place to bring friends/dates out to

Amazing dining experience. From the accessible entrance to the little propagations of plants, from the glass bottles with fresh flower and the name of Paris Baguette on it to the fantastic display of the sushi bar, from the hand-written menu with little manga to the lady wearing kimono, this place is more than a place to eat. It's a interesting place to drink, observe, and experience. Every dish we ordered was good, regarding the high quality of fish and umami taste. I'm appreciative that Astoria has this restaurant.

Great place to see if you like Japanese food, sushi and sake (its serves in glasses, full glasses). Always fresh and tasty, ask for special menu, really interesting offers!

Only authentic Japanese restaurant in the area. Amazing sushi and sashimi, but the jumbo oyster tasted suspicious and ended up giving me massive stomach problems.

The food was absolutely amazing. So fresh, so unique, and so reasonably priced! I absolutely want to return more than once to try everything on their menu. Pretty busy on a Sunday evening also! The service is also perfect. Had an amazing dinner.

I instantly had a bad taste in my mouth when at the bottom of the menu it says $20 minimum per person. Very tacky. Me and my hundred pound girlfriend ordered two appetizers and two sushi rolls which are plenty enough to fill us up, and they were all in a huff because it was only gonna come out to $31. Thank God we ordered a dessert to make it 40 bucks worth. The food was Adequate, somethings were tasty somethings were average. I’m not cheap, and spend about $20 a person when I go to dinner at least, it’s just bad business and makes me never want to go to this place again, because overall, it’s an average sushi place with only sushi basically.

The staff were incredibly friendly and polite. It's a true Japanese establishment with good vibes and good service. The sushi was very good. 4 stars just because there wasn't more of a selection, but otherwise it was good and filling.
