Kumon Math and Reading Center of Tarrytown

We are very pleased overall with the Kumon curriculum and even more impressed with this particular center. Ms Sood and her instructors genuinely care for the students and their progress. I always feel she personally knows exactly where my son stands, where he can improve and where he is thriving. Extremely personal attention given and an overall lovely vibe at the center. We see how much our son has grown (especially important during the pandemic) and has leapfrogged his grade standard. We’ll be continuing with Kumon at the Tarrytown center for years to come!

To start with, I'd like to mention that education has always been of great importance to our family. From the very beginning, we tried to instill love of learning in our children.
We realized that most public schools didn't have challenging programs for advanced kids in their curriculum.
We liked the Kumon Method because math and reading concepts are introduced in a step-by-step manner that allows children to master each skill in turn without getting frustrated. Moreover, it motivates them to achieve more on their own.
So, in February 2022 we decided to enroll our kids in Kumon of Tarrytown, and we couldn't be happier with our decision!
It's been an exciting and successful learning journey for our 10-year-old son and our 6-year-old daughter. Thanks to great effort and high level of professionalism of Mrs. Sam and her staff not only did our kids become more proficient in math and reading, but also more independent, organized and confident in school.
We are so pleased with the amazing job that Mrs. Sam is doing every time our kids are in the center! If they struggle with something or have a question, she and her instructors are always ready to give a helping hand. Mrs. Sam's caring and supportive nature brings positive results to our kids' learning experience.

Our children's experience in Kumon of Tarrytown has been amazing! They started Kumon under Mrs. Lillian, and then continued with Mrs. Sam, whom I would like to highly recommend, and I am not saying this lightly as, when she took over the Kumon center, we had very high expectations. Mrs. Sam has a great combination of kindness and academic rigor, and she is extremely responsive to parent requests (for example, my children each do abbreviated sets during the week for Math and English, as a full set would be too much with their busy schedules). Mrs. Sam takes time to explain and correct their mistakes, while always carrying a positive attitude towards learning. She connects with the children at a personal level and entices them to come to the center with a smile on their faces. We find Kumon to be a great way to supplement the public school curriculum, which is lacking in many respects. Thank you to Mrs. Sam for all the effort she is putting in on a daily basis!

I have been doing Kumon for seven years and it has helped me so much. Knowing the material before you are tested on it is such an advantage and privilege. Thank you so much Ms. Lillian and Ms. Sam, you have been the best teachers I've ever had.

Growing up in a bilingual family, learning English is challenging for my five-year old son until he started his Kumon journey about 7 months ago. Teachers in Kumon are so patient and responsible, and my son's improvement impressed everyone in our family as well as his teachers in school. Starting from this September, our little daughter started Kumon at the age of 3. At the very beginning, she refused to answer any question. Now, only after two months, she talked so actively with the teachers and always enjoyed Kumon classes.

Mrs. Sam is so responsible and helpful, since she knows every kid’s progress and customizes learning plans to satisfy their needs. We really appreciate Mrs. Sam for creating such a great learning environment to help every kid learn, enjoy, and grow.
