I cannot say enough good things about this salon. It literally has everything! The vibe and decor are unbelievable. Unlike any other salon I’ve been to. Very eclectic and cool. The staff are all so friendly and welcoming. But the best part is the service and talent. I’ve been going to my stylist Koko for years and she is truly incredible. So talented and skilled and really takes her time to make sure you get exactly what you’re looking for and it really shows. You come out looking and feeling amazing. Hands down one of the best salons and stylist in the city.

Booked an appointment on a whim, and it was such a good decision. Customer service is top notch. They were very responsive via email, and thoughtful. One nice touch was, that pricing was very transparent with the choice of different types of stylists. (Prices are very reasonable for the quality of care you get.) Cana, my stylist was lovely and very thoughtful in terms of checking with me each step of the way to ensure I liked the way my hair looked. This place is a haven for introverts with talented stylists. I would highly recommend.

Wataru-San gave my hair new life! I was blown away the second I stepped into the salon. Wataru took my coat, gave me a very detailed consultation and was patient with me when I didn't know what I wanted.

I let him work his magic and in an hours time, I felt like a new person! Everything from the shampoo, to the head spa, to the hair cut and blow dry was impeccable. He added so much dimension that made my face look less round (my biggest insecurity), I cannot say thanks enough. I wish I could give Wataru and Kuniya more stars. I would not trust my short hair to anybody but the masterful hands of Masa. His scissor-wielding is incredible (and he’s a nice guy also) and his scalp massages out of this world. I adore his salon’s eclectic, fun and positive vibes and his always pleasant staff. No divas, no drama ever. I always leave with a smile on my face.

I first found Kuniya Hair after a disastrous bob, the stylist absolutely saved the day, and I never went anywhere else ever again while I lived in NYC. I have had my curly hair butchered more times than I care to remember, but Wata and the other stylists always gave me phenomenal wash-and-go haircuts that grew out beautifully.

Ruka is a very talented hair cutter and artist Ruka listens to what her client desires before she even begins to take a comb to their hair. Ruka has cut my hair on numerous occasions and has outperformed any previous haircutter I have experienced in 61 years. Ruka has cut the hair of my teenage son also and much To his satisfaction.we are very lucky to have Ruka as our friend and our talented haircutting artist. Ruka is the sweetest person you could ever want to meet, beautiful inside and out.

Just found my go-to salon. After Nao cut my hair, I left feeling like a new person. She gave me exactly what I asked for in a way that suited my face even better than I imagined. Gorgeous interior! Extremely relaxing space with great music. My shampoo and head massage were divine. Excellent value. I've always had trouble finding salons that know how to handle my mixed Asian hair type. Happiest I've ever been about a haircut!

Loved my haircut at Kuniya! They’re transparent with pricing and let you know it’s cash only in advance. My stylist was so meticulous with my haircut, first dry cut then wash/style/final adjustments. Absolutely loved how it turned out and I’ll be returning for a trim in a few months.

AMAZING! I had my haircut by Masa (owner) this week. I have been living in NY for 7 years and this is the best haircut I've gotten. I have very thick and long hair, and he cut it exactly as I requested and checked it along the ways. He has significant experience and takes the time to explain why he is doing certain things and what the client should do for styling etc. Look no further and book with Masa today! Worth every penny, and tbh for Manhattan its really not that much.

Masa is the greatest. He customized the style to fit the clients maintenance style. He asked me if I blow dry my hair, if I use a comb, if I do any styling myself at all. All the insights he gained from his questions enabled him to tailor his cut so you can easily recreate the look with your current routine at home. His cut seemed effortless with style. I’m very happy with my experience.

I am new to hair-styling but Koko gave me a number of options and recommendations to choose from and offered me an awesome haircut. Highly recommended.

KoKo is the best thing happed to me regarding my hair cut. It all started about 2 years ago since then I always go to KoKo for my haircut. As a man, I used to go to regular barber shop and get the same boring results every time so I wanted to do changes and get a professional hair cut. By the way, my hair is a little wavy and it gets curly when growing. I was tired of keeping it short like a traditional mens hair style. I wanted to grow my hair on the top and It is hard to keep it in a good shape with that wavy hair. So, she recommended me a series of hair cut with keratin treatment. I had keratin treatment before and my hair was so straight and looked really fake for me because I needed the volume, my hair is thinning. The way she help me to grow my hair with a style & applying the keratin treatment was the way needed to be applied while keeping the volume. That was the way to go. All my friends noticed the volume and the stylish look on my hair. Well, I’ve got lots of compliments there. Let me tell you, People complementing you is a good feeling.
I also had gray hair here and there but that was an easy fix for her. I definitely recommend KoKo, she is the master hair stylist. Go to her, she will style like you are coming out of movies….

Despite moving to the West Coast, I get back to see Masa as much as possible. He listens to his clients and provides attentive, caring service. He has given me many different cuts and colors over the years and I always appreciate his insight and the end result. I wish Masa had a studio on the West Coast!
