Kyle Godfrey, MD, FACS reviews
3 I consulted Dr Godfrey for dry eye. Here is a brief account of my consultation experience.
Shortly after registering at the desk, I was taken to an interim waiting room as is the usual practice nowadays. After an hour had passed and no one had even looked in, I suspected I had been forgotten about. One of the nurse assistants was walking past the room so I called to her and she asked me who I was. When I told her, she said, “Oh they have been calling for you in the waiting area. We didn’t know where you were.
After another 20 minutes, , the assistant who had ushered me to the interim room came to see me to apologize. She said the doctor was busy now as I was now considered late for my appointment (!) and she didn’t know when he could see me, as he had other patients and I had missed my place.
After about 40 minutes an intern saw me. She was polite, professional and apologized for the practice “losing me” in the system. She asked me a few questions and and tested my tear ducts and seemed to know what she was doing.
Eventually Dr Godfrey saw me. He appeared to be in a bad mood as he was running late.
I have read other reviews and it appears Dr Godfrey was having a bad day when I saw him, as he is generally held in high regard.
Opthamology services at Weill Cornell are generally excellent. Dr Godfrey has since apologized for the way the day went and has explained what I need to do in order to minimize my dry eye condition, as though it can be corrected surgical this is not advisable due to my other health issues.
Dr Godfrey is a Diamond in the Rough. Great Doctor with expertise matched by compassion. Dr Godfrey’s intern resident was also thorough and compassionate. Looking forward to having Dr Godfrey as my eye specialist specialist and highly recommend to all. Sincerely, Bob Avaltroni
Dr. Kyle Godfrey is great. I broke up a pit bull fight at my job (work with animals full time) one lunged at my face and somehow sliced my bottom eye lid and tore my tear duct basically. TMI but the bottom lid was basically ripped. I was super lucky to have gone to the ER and have Kyle Godfrey be on call that night. He assessed the situation and gave me a few surgery options and was very straight forward with pros and cons / recommendations with waiting for surgery etc.respected his honest opinions while also having a great bedside manner and making you feel comfortable. We did the surgery that night and he got to work right away.about 5 years later I have no issues with my tear duct (no excess tears no excess dryness) and you could never tell I had surgery done on my lower eye lid. The scar healed beautifully and was as if nothing ever happened. Meant to write this years ago but totally forgot and remembered because of iphone memories as it was this time a few years ago lol! Highly recommend if you want top notch professional care.
