La Candela II reviews
27The food was good, authentic Peruvian flavors. The service was excellent. The servers were trained as if it was fine dining, one hand on the back, etc. I feel the service was too over the top, too professional for the delicious Peruvian food. The atmosphere was good, nice music and many families/couples were there. The atmosphere matched the food. We ordered Aji de gallina, a Peruvian dish that I think lots of native Peruvian love, not a fan of it, but my husband loved it! I ordered Seco de Cabrito and it was good! Their homemade Chicha was really refreshing! Prices were just as the service, a little over the top compared to other Peruvian restaurants in the area.
The most delicious Peruvian food I've tasted in NY. A small but Cozy and beautiful place to go a special date with ur hubby or wifee, B-G, and dear ones.
The batter was really good and I usually do not like calamari. The corn with the sauce was awesome! The only reason I'm giving 4 stars is due to the service from the employees. No one cared we showed up and we had to constantly ASK for service such as to sit, water, and to take our order. We also had to ask another server to constantly get our server majority of the time. It was annoyingly unbelievable!
Great food, friendly service, fun atmosphere. Must try the tiramisu dessert, absolutely amazing!
I like the way they serve you, the place has a comfortable and elegant atmosphere, the food undoubtedly has that Peruvian touch, totally recommended if you are looking for the original flavor of Peruvian cuisine
Not only is the food great, THE SERVICE IS AMAZING! I’ve been here twice and they consistently set the bar. They need another one in boroughs!
No chicken on the menu? ! I was heart broken. Staff was friendly however and they let me and my date stay in long after we were done with our meal because of a snow storm.
I went with my friends to watch a soccer game while eating and everything was really good, food came promptly and was delicious (you can order uber eats too, so now I have eat more often) lomo salteado is the best (try the salsa verde, not that hot but tasty)
Delicious Food like Peru, brought our whole Ministry from diferentes countries and all of them Loved the food, my Son loves the Spaghetti verde, my husband The Ceviche and me the Arroz Chaufa, sooo yummy Def Highly recommended?
The food was very delicious. The serving was just right. The atmosphere was very lively. The place was very crowded. They had a one man band. He sang very good, it wasn't too loud, it was enjoyable. The service was outstanding.
Was there yesterday for a family friends birthday, I was truly amazed by the hospitality and the great service considering the fact that there were 12 of us. It was also my first time at this restaurant trying different food, this will not be the last time that I come to this restaurant. I enjoyed the chicken and fried rice.
I was mesmerized by how exotic the dishes looked and ultimately how amazing it was! The dishes were packed full of flavor and I even tried some of my family's dishes and it was equally as delicious. I highly recommend you get some form of seafood (Especially the salmon, fantastic) but in reality you can't go wrong with anything. Couple the food with a nice atmosphere and Candela II is definitely a 5 star.
Food is delicious, staff is attentive and prices are good. Friendly place to enjoy a delicious dinner.
Super yummy ceviche amd food waiter was so noce explained all the specials and the food is just amazing
Great place to eat amazing- great ambiance- arroz con mariscos- ceviche Jalea- we are die hard clients amazing place. I highly recommend
Food was pretty good. Lighting is a little dimmer than I prefer but it's part of the theme. Knocking it down to 3 stars because staff is subpar. Not friendly and you have call them over for refills because they won't come unless called.
Very good food, good service. Nice atmosphere. I will definite go back to try some more dishes.
We had a great time with my family and the place is small but pleasantly, nice, great service good background music and the food is awesome.
I order ceviche de camaron, and it was very spice the shrimp they use are the precooked it was really bad, I will never go back
I'm half Peruvian and have been to many Peruvian restaurants, I can honestly say this place has the best jalea. The flavor and texture is by far the best I've ever had. Perfectly crunchy perfectly battered. The garlic shrimp is also great. My husband always gets lomo with skirt steak great quality steak. One of our favorite spots to go when in the area.
