Charcuterie La Salumina reviews
10Incredible products and people, the pancetta is insanely good, finocchietta amazing flavor, and pork rilettes are a must!
Amazing shop filled with the most high quality, delicious products. The owners are fantastic and always willing to take time to explain in detail what they’re selling, wheee it comes form, etc.this place is a gem in the area.
Have not tried all their products yet. I did have a spreadable salami that was very good. Looking forward to the peppered pancetta that I purchased tomorrow and hopefully going to give a great review on that as it looks fabulous. Don't walk in at 5 minutes to closing as you'll be reminded they're closing in 5 minutes. The only reason why I'm making my review at this point at four stars is the comment that was made when I first walked in telling me they were closing in 5 minutes at a storefront. It wasn't like I was going to sit down and order a sandwich to eat and stay there for another 30 minutes. The shop looks pretty cool though and I was looking forward to go there for some time. I will go back as the lady running the cash register did apologize for the gentleman who had to remind me of my poor timekeeping and coming in very close to their closing time.
No exaggeration, some of the best charcuterie/salumi I've ever had. Grab anything you see and you won't be disappointed.
We were visiting family from upstate NY from Texas. We were told to go inside and check out this small, artisanal shop. This is a hidden gem and you really need to check this shop out. The owner explained everything in detail and made sure we were confident in our decision. They make all meats in house and the cheeses are made locally.
It's a little pricey, but you pay for the quality. It's well worth it.
La Salumina makes an incredible sandwich. Freshly made when ordered, the warm foccacia complements the fatty meats so well. On this particular Saturday morning, the sandwiches were porchetta ham with straciacella cheese and tomato, and a vegetarian beet and cheese. The foccicia is about a 6x6 square and the sandwich is served toasty warm and cheese is melty. This is a small shop run by a husband and wife team, so please be patient and kind and shop local.
The cured meat and salami selection is impressive. I wish I had more time to try more options other than the porchetta.
La Salumina also carries pantry goods imported from Italy, such as Sicialian lemon preserves, anchovies, olive oil, and tomatoes.
What a great place for real deal handmade farm to table items. I recently started stopping by on weekends and find myself looking forward to trying something new every week. Don't skip out on treating yourself!
The best, sweetest, most knowledgeable, and passionate shop owners. Extraordinary selection of Italian charcuterie needs. Highly recommend! Also great for gifting <3 pastas, Salumi, olive oil, olives, capers, local cheeses, etc. They work with local farms and are filled with knowledge of their products inside and out.
What a wonderful place! It is rare to find an artisan so passionate about his product but a visit to Gianpiero is time well spent - a carefully curated and enticing store, the meats produced to the highest quality and humane standards. Worth a detour.
Wonderful couple running this friendly charcuterie. The cold cuts are amazing and so are the cannoli's. I just wished they lived closer to Brooklyn.
