La Vie reviews
17For $22 dollars you think they could’ve spared a little more hollandaise. Thanks for nothing and the muffin was not toasted either.
This place is overpriced and nasty. I paid $34 for a chicken caesar salad which is ridiculous. Not only that, the salad was a small portion and the chicken was very under seasoned. I do believe our country can have plate sizes too big but for the love of God, give people more lettuce. Oh and the caesar sauce was whack. You can find better food at a bodega. It was a cute atmosphere thougg. But that's mostly because it's in the TWA Hotel so yeah, one star.
Decent enough food to kill time at JFK. But the conversation with Ken was what kept me here for my 8 hour layover from Chicago to London. Even gave me a cigarette or two to have outside the airport on the smoking section and gave me a lighter. Ken is a really cool dude/worker/human being. If I'm ever back to JFK in this Terminal I'd be sure to check to see if he's working that time. And an update to prior reviews, apparently they can make food to go now.
Panini was excellent. Beet salad was surprisingly good. Much better quality than the food court.
La Vie was a nice spot for breakfast if you have some to kill at the airport. I emphasize this as they DO NOT do To Go. I had a breakfast quesadilla and a coffee. Both were serviceable and the atmosphere is relaxed compared to the hectic Starbucks line immediately outside.
The restaurant is run by one (very friendly) individual who despite the burden maintains good service, so allot a few extra minutes or get your check early to make sure you can leave on time.
I had the chicken Milanese and a beer, which totalled $38. The food was good enough, the beer was decent but insanely priced at $12 for a can of NY local craft. Service was meh, but there was occasionally a bar tender there. Occasionally.
Ate here after we flew in from an international flight. Better than average airport food and great server. The music, however, is way too loud and should be something more easy listening. Impossible to make any phone calls it’s so loud.
Hi La Vie,
I was told my card didn’t work this morning and was made to pay with cash. My bank has now alerted me for two payments debited by you. Please contact me to resolve this.
Really good Carbonara and good portions. The waiter was also very nice. Honestly good choice in Terminal 5
I only have 2 stars because of the view. But the customer service and the food is no good. I do not recommend at all.
There are other restaurants in the area that are good. Do not let TikTok and the view fool you.
This is a great place to relax and eat in a *quieter* place in a very busy JFK airport, food is decent and the prices aren’t awful for what you’d expect in an airport. I sat and chatted with the bartender/server “MD” and he was a very nice and eager guy.
Ordered late at night expecting nothing from an airport restaurant. Chef delivered two bowls of GREAT pasta. Very nice server too.
The meatball sandwich was actually very good! Considering that this terminal has a serious lack of quality restaurants I found La Vie to be a very nice retreat from the crowds considering that it's quite small.
Ate breakfast here during layover at JFK. Comfortable seating, clean table, and fast service. The Eggs Benedict was cooked perfectly, however, the potatoes were a bit mushy and bland. When I checked in at the desk, had to be a bit assertive to get the attention of the hostess to get a table.
Wonderful spot for coffee, and they offer smaller things than most places in the airport, like a toasted muffin or bagel. Service can be a bit slow, but if you've got time to stand in the insanely long line at the Starbucks next door, then you'll do much better sitting here and enjoying a latte and warm croissant.
All the workers treated us like we were suppose to be serving them.
No thanks.we pay $28 for a martini, you make $15 an hour.
Never again
