Lady M Cake Boutique reviews
10 Poorly designed website, lots of words and extremely poor webpage layout in the delivery section which for me was the most important part. I ordered the cake a week prior to my daughter's birthday wishing to have a special cake delivered to her on her actual birthday not days in advance (was supposed to be a surprise) and frozen so that now she needs to thaw it before being able to enjoy it on her birthday. This bakery is a few blocks away from where she lives, it's stunning that they can't deliver fresh high quality cakes in NYC blocks away from a place, which should take a few hours tops, using people on bicycles and would be more efficient not to mention environmentally responsible.
The woman who answered the phone was stiff, useless and somewhat annoyed with me rather than being sympathetic and offer some words of reassurance, apology or anything even remotely close to empathic. Your typical mean New Yorker, it seems to be a badge of honor there to be unkind especially to your customers who support your business.
They use FedEx for delivery. So they are a few blocks away from where my daughter lives but they made the cake yesterday, flash froze it and sent it overnight by FedEx for a hefty fee of $45 and the awful impact on the environment so it'll arrive on her birthday, frozen and late (delivery window is up to 8: 00 p.m.). Price tag for this very special service: $153.
I am never ordering from them again and will make sure I put bad reviews on all social media. What an epic disappointment and aggravation for a mother who can't be there with her only daughter on her birthday!
Hey, Lady M cakes. Your cakes are delicious. But, please hire more staffs at the Rockefeller location. You only have a lady staff working that she couldn’t have her bathroom time enough that the store had to close during business hours. Shame on your bad employees work environment. You should fix the problem.
I've visited there today and I have to tell you the manager is super friendly and very professional. I ordered a signature cake and it's delicious. Thank you for your great service!
The crepe cakes were very fluffy and not too sweet. Perfectly made with just the right amount of cream between each layer of crepe. Service was excellent. Highly recommended.
It was amazing! I can't believe what people are saying and all their complaints about the prices. Yes, they are $9 a piece, but what did you expect? This is New York and this store is "fancier" than some of the others. If this is too expensive, I think people should just not go there and go to cheesecake factory instead, and not leave these comments about it being too expensive. Most of the comments about prices come from Chinese people who have no problem buying macaroons at Laduree in Paris for $2.5 a piece but somehow the whole piece of cake is too expensive. It wasn't that small by the way, I was hungry and I could barely finish my piece. Also, this is a cake hence dessert, and you need to enjoy the flavor and not just stuff your face with gigantic portions. Some people said it has no taste - I think it's because they are too much used to all the artificial flavors that are so widely used in the USA the cake tastes great!
This location serves just cakes no seating area but there is a Starbucks and others coffee places next door with seating areas. Love their signature Milli Crepes!
The green tea mille crepe looks good but over priced and doesn't have much flavor. Not recommend.
Price hike and smaller slices? ! It's now $8.50 for a slice of original and $9 for a slice of matcha. And the slices are tiny! Sure, the cake is good, the matcha mille crepe comes with lots of matcha powder, and the original flavor is pretty layered with hints of alcohol, but it's not so mindblowingly good that I'd pay that much for a slice. Also, the staff is not professional. One of the two employees behind the counter had her phone plugged into the wall outlet and was texting the whole time we were there. There's also no seating in this location.
The cake is ok but the entire story is more of a marketing hype. Not the type of thing I would think about revisit all the time.
This location is very small. There is no seat available, but no people waiting either.
I got a slice of the green tea crepe, somehow the slice is a lot smaller than other location, not sure if it's just me or that's always been the case. But the taste is very consistent with other Lady M locations, and I'm glad there is no need to wait.
