Please be aware this is my review as someone who had their wedding at this location. The food and location of the venue is great. Customer service left a lot to be desired.

We booked this venue a little over a year before our wedding. During that time, the venue management had to hire FOUR different event coordinators (numbers three and four were hired together, but they laid off one coordinator (the experienced one) off a few weeks before our wedding. We believe this was due to the management making them do more-with-less regarding budgets and staff with regard to events (This is not something we enjoyed while planning our a wedding). We had to re-do more than half a dozen meetings to meet the new coordinator and for him or her to confirm his or her understanding of the prior agreement (s). Each time, a different response to the prior agreement was made despite what we were told. We had to argue each time for what we were promised by a previous coordinator. A tasting of the reception menu had to be redone due to miscommunications between the coordinators and kitchen on the available foods and choices and when we showed up for our second tasting, we were ignored by a manager (having to run the tasting essentially on our own) after management neglected to notify us that the previous coordinator hired had quit or been fired, prior to showing up.

The prices kept changing mysteriously and thankfully we had everything documented on prior emails and menus provided. And days before the wedding when the payment was due, the price per person was suddenly several 10% higher than agreed. Turned out the management couldn’t do math and after several emails explaining elementary school level addition and multiplication, they finally understood and amended the price.

In between the hiring of the second and third coordinators we had to resort to dealing with the club “manager”, Fabiana. She planned and scheduled a meeting time with us, then literally didn’t show. Instead, we blindsided coordinator number three or four who wasn’t even told he had a meeting by his management. When we had him contact her, as she failed to show to the meeting, she mistook that she was on speaker phone and stated very candidly she didn’t set up a meeting and that we were wrong. She suddenly remembered about the meeting when we reminded her she was on speaker by discussing who had called and when and then she attempted to slide the fault onto the newly hired coordinator (s) for not being prepared. This kind of behavior and carelessness led to us hiring a third private party as our wedding coordinator.

Fast forward to the venue coordinator we were dealing with at the venue on the date of our wedding (number four if you’re keeping track). It was clear she had no experience planning or running a wedding, only sales. She contacted me three days prior to my wedding to go create seating arrangements. Thank god at this point we had already hired an outside wedding coordinator prior to that date who I had already hammered out those details with. This same coordinator (#4) was also found wooffing a cheeseburger in the venue’s kitchen during dessert service and failed to be helpful with the cutting and service of the desserts. This all resulted in several guests not getting the desserts. Additionally, the venue coordinator tried to undermine our private coordinator during the reception, confirmed by our dj, and this was as rattling as much as unprofessional.

Now we find out that some of our tables did not get all of the food selections we paid for during the wedding as they failed to make enough food for the buffet. Do yourself a favor and don’t book here.

This is long but I wanted to share our horrible experience from last night.

So last night the Hubs and I decided to try Lola, the new public restaurant at Lakeshore Country Club. It was also a chance to check out the club and the marina for our boat. Having never been there, we parked with the other cars and went inside. There were customers at a few tables with about 6-7 folks at the bar. After ordering drinks, the bartender asked for our “number”. I told him that we were not members but were here to try the new restaurant and look around. He explained that we were on the “members only” side and the public bar was around the back side of this room. He was very nice, and told us we’d settle up with him when we finished our drinks then could move to the public side. We apologized and agreed to move when finished; perfect. A couple minutes later we’re interrupted by this bossy guy in a sports coat who loudly told us we had to move immediately as this area was only for members. I asked if we could finish our drinks then move and he was adamant that we move NOW. So now the entire bar and restaurant is openly staring at us as if our presence had soiled their “club”. I asked if the bartender could move our drinks and was told we had to take them with us. So not only has this rude man made sure everyone knew we mistakenly entered the wrong restaurant, he felt the need to humiliate us as well! How dare he treat us like this, he had no idea who we are or why we’re there! GRRRRR!

Let me also say, there were no visible signs at the entry door saying “members only”, no directional signs to Lola, nothing. We’re not mind readers, we parked and entered where we saw people.

So now that we’ve been humiliated and escorted out we find ourselves in Lola. Within a minute or two our new bartender appears and introduces himself as Steve. We promptly fill him in on our humiliating experience and how angry we are. We said we’d finish our drinks and never come back again because of how we were treated. He apologized profusely and I asked who the jerk was who pretty much threw us out. We find out the rude guy is “Jerry” and he’s a pseudo manager of some sort.

Well, a little while later Jerry wandered in to suck up to the few dinner guests there and totally ignored my Hubs and I who are the only customers at the bar. As Jerry walked past us I stopped him to tell him he could have handled the situation much differently. He immediately interrupted and began to talk OVER me so I couldn’t get a word in! I informed him that he didn’t need to humiliate us in front of everyone and all he said was “well, that area is members only so you had to go and someone has to be the bad guy. ” No apology, nothing. Jerry had no respect for me as a woman, a customer or as a potential club member and continued speaking over me the entire time before he abruptly turned, rudely dismissed me and walked away. This man is a rude, arrogant, misogynistic jerk! We were there to quietly check out the club and the marina, needless to say we will NOT be joining Lakeshore now or in the future! The only saving grace they have is Steve. He treated us with respect, bought us a drink and apologized on the owners behalf. Because of him, we may be back for a cocktail again but we will NEVER join that Club.

Good food, small portions, fair service, somewhat pricey, excellent view from deck. Waitress was inexperienced. Would try again.

Enjoyed a round of golf, today. The pro shop staff was very pleasant and attentive, promptly meeting me as I drove up, to take my clubs to a cart. Took advantage of the beautiful day and lake view by having lunch on the deck. The food was delicious (had the greens pizza) and our waitress was friendly and efficient.

We were hoping to have lunch there, but they only serv dinner for now. But even though they were not serving lunch, they offered to serve us. We really appreciated it, but didn't want to impose on them. They were extremely nice and courteous, I would definitely go back in summer time.

Great location bad food. Literally inedible burnt veal even after we sent it back. Dry, overcooked cold pork served over soggy, greasy, cold pasta. Very disappointed and ridiculously overpriced. Good Utica greens.

They usually host a free fireworks show every 4th of July but this year you now have to pay $30 which is ridiculous. If it was $5 that would be reasonable but there’s no way I’m paying $30 to sit on grass just to see fireworks for 10 minuets.

Yesterday I experience my first day as a LSYCC member. Was everything i was expecting and more. The golf coarse is spectacularly manicured, challenging but not overly so making it a joyful round of golf. The members I was introduce to were over the top making me feel comfortable immediately. The view is second to none overlooking Oneida lake. This is the best of both worlds if you enjoy golf and boating. My only regret is waiting to join this long.
