Lake Taghkanic Beach, Ancram NY

During this fall day taghkanic beach wasn't crowded. Sitting on a beach on a warm fall day, is a great last escape before winter. Grateful and regretful Let's call it regrateful Thanks for the new word Kate!

Beautiful place, great views of lake and the forest surrounding the park. BBQ area is great, big trees provide a good shade from the sun, great place for day outdoors with the family.

Loved the beach food is reasonable the life guards need some manners and need to be a bit more conservative one of the female lifeguards but cheeks hanging out of her uniform bathing suite she was quite skinny not appropriate around children. My daughter had the best time.

I think it's disgusting that people are allowed to smoke next to the beach with children around! They should smoke in the parking lot or away from people! The rangers and staff are also not very friendly.

Enjoyed very much with the family, very clean, and plenty of options for picnic and children parks, option to rent a boat, and cottages, it seems a great place for camping too. Didn't explore the trails this time, but planning to come back very soon.

Great place, people is the one that make it have only 4, smoking in non smoking areas, playing music louder than allow and nobody came to point that out. Otherwise bathrooms are clean for the traffic that they have. Bring all you need even your small grill is allow. Everything is very expensive for example 1 bottle of water cost $4, so yeah bring all you need!

What a hidden gem! Straight off taconic parkway. Very beautiful and clean beach. I suggest you get there early on the weekends. Get packed pretty quick.

Beautiful lake! The lifeguards and park staff are awesome! It’s clean and well maintained!

My wife and I went for the first time this past week and loved the place. The beach was clean and food stand was reasonably priced. Parking was only 10 dollars

It's always a great time at the lake and we come here every year. Unfortunately, an incredibly aggressive squirrel broke into our porch area and devoured our hamburger and hot dog rolls and trashed the area. The staff immediately fixed the screen but the highly motivated squirrel came back the following day and busted thru the screen again. Will visit again next summer.

I grew up going swimming here. Recently revisited. The park is absolutely beautiful and well maintained. But, they closed down the old beach near the camping area. The main Lake is not like it used to be. The buoys are pulled in so the swimming area is only waist deep! Huge lake and you can only go in up to your waist. This makes it more crowded, they do not grate the sand in the water so there are dips. I was not able to swim there. You can't because your limited. Was disappointed.

The park is clean, it's a great place to take your family on a hot day. Take everything you'll need and you should have a great time. There's also a lot of trees in the area great for providing shade. Not sure if there's a garbage skip on site so we left with our garbage

Beautiful and relaxing beach. Try to carry cash when coming here, the card machines sometimes dont work

Great place for camping, hiking. Clean beach.
Be aware of State police, you can get a ticket by not having a seat belt.
