8 The beach is closed on 9/5/2023, still summer-time and 89° outside. Labor Day was yesterday, yes, who cares, the beach should still be open since it is still summer.
It is just ridiculous, insane, against all logic that people would rather spend money on ineffective ways to lose stress in New York when there are the lakes! News for you: in other countries (since I am American from abroad), they leave lakes open ALL YEAR LONG, because they are natural places for people to go to anytime they want!
You may say "but there are snakes and other vermins around", there are during the summer too! What's the difference? I have not seen even 1 state/county employee cleaning a lake area of snakes or other pests in the summer.
Beautiful place for a picnic, fishing, the beach is closed on weekdays until next summer but remains open on weekends.
BE ADVISED NO BAPTIZED ALLOWED! Hi we went on Saturday morning with a group of our church to get baptized and we were denied. Tom the manager told us we cannot wear white shirt inside the lake and cannot baptized since 2019. They’re were no signs, it’s a lake for everyone’s use. Paid by taxpayers, but where is the law? Do we need a permit to baptized? It only takes 2 seconds per person on the water?
This lake @ Harriman State Park is a great place to enjoy with family & friends. The scenery is stunning.
Nice spot. But no food or drinks on the beach. Hard when it’s hot and you have kids. Water is okay. Kinda mucky. Much better lake areas to swim where you can enjoy a cold coke and a sandwich on the lake. Easy parking gets it two stars and restrooms close to lake area. Clean restrooms as well.
If you enjoy driving, this is the perfect location. Both Arden Valley Rd and Tiorati brook Rd are amazing for early morning cruises.
Jan2023: Mother mature did a wonderful job. The ambiance was great and it felt majestic. Lots of trees everywhere, chilly, nice star gazing location and we saw Mars and Jupiter- what a bonus. Con: Parking when beach is open is about $10. Also not really safe for kids the lake is next to the road.
This place is amazing. Summer or fall is amazing. It get very crowded but the spot and the view is cool. Picnic Area is pretty large, bathrooms are stocked and clean. We went on October 22nd and parking lot was full. Very nice place for picnicking and enjoy the view.
