Lakeside Resort & 3812 Bistro, Watkins Glen NY

We went to the bistro and it was honestly the most disappointing meal I've ever paid for. From the moment we walked in I could tell it was going to be a bad exerience. From the food at others tables to the menu we knew not to have high hopes, but it was even worse than I had imagined.

We ordered a steak sandwich and hamburger and the meat was so low quality I would not feed it to a dog. The bun Was sopping wet with grease and the burger had a funky smell. My partner got the steak sandwich and it was so covered in sauce you could barely notice how terrible the rest was.

We spent way to much money for these meals and both left feeling ill and extremely unsatisfied. Each of these meals were around $15 and did not come with fried or a side. The burger was tiny, greasy and gross.

We will never be going back.

To top it off, the next day I got a response from the owner saying I was a liar from my above review (you can see their response below).

First while there wasnt food served the moment we walked in, we were last to order so we saw each dish come out.

Secondly, my food was not finished, as the waitress even asked if I wanted a to-go box. While we did choke down as much of the absolutely disgustingmeal as we could. That had more to do with hating to waste food when so many people go without and we had been fasting all day.

I understand you are trying to save your business by responding in a rude manor that makes it seem as though the customer is wrong but it is pretty indicative of your character when you go to any negative review and all your reply are accusatory. Maybe instead of spending so much time replying to negative comments you could put some of that effort into fixing your shifty business.

Lastly, we did not complain to the waitress because unless she is the one sourcing the food, making the food and doing all the decision making, she is just trying to get through her day. On top of the fact that we also were out celebrating and were hoping to have a good night out.

I have never seen a business care so little about a customer experience.

Staff is super nice and knowledgeable about the area. The bistro is nice to get a quick bite before adventuring out and about. Staid in the king cabin chalet. Wonderful concept with drive up and unload everything right out of your vehicle. Beautiful view and you can see Hector falls across the lake. Lots of nice accommodations in the cabin. Seriously can't think of a single thing I didn't like about this place.

Stopped in here twice during our stay at the FLX. First night was to just grab a to go order. Bartender was awesome and took care of us with some of their local beverages. Ended up talking with her and her hubby (sitting beside us!) for a while. The chef (Christian) and his dog also said hello to us. Christian and the bartender gave great reccs on the local waterfalls, which we took the up on.

This place was recommended to us by the lodge we stayed. Some of the online material could stand to be upgraded so we could verify those recommendations.

Only visited the bistro. But the food was reasonably priced and really tasty ️ tried the burger, grilled cheese, steak fries and squash bisque.everything was great, although personally the bisque took a little while for me to really get into, but it was something very different for me to try

My BF planned this trip and the place was breathtaking, especially the cabins ️ a place to add to your list

This place is incredible! The views, the accommodations, the staff, and the bistro were all fantastic. We took our dog and the off -leash area, along with the on site trails, were amazing. We all loved it and will be back!

We are locals so had no need to stay but the cabins look really nice with an incredible view. Stopped in for a quit lunch bite on a Sunday. Food was all perfect and will return for the food for sure. Service is a personal thing for me maybe but there is no reason you can't say hello to a customer walking in because whatever you are talking about with a coworker is more important AND put your damn phone down when bringing out menus to customers. Call me old school but if it happens again I won't be back.

We had a great stay at Lakeside Resort. We stayed in one of the rooms with a beautiful balcony and view of the lake. The room was clean, updated, and comfortable. We arrived late and just stayed for the evening but would 100% come back again in the future. We also grabbed some lunch at the bistro the next day and it was delicious. We had the grilled cheese with tomato soup and the grilled chicken sandwich, both so tasty! Highly recommend!

Second year in a row that we’ve come up with truck, Harley Davidson motorcycle in trailer, and our dog. We had a cabin this year, last year we booked last minute so we had the attached units next to the office, which were nicely renovated. Here are some photos of our unit. We have already booked for 2023.

We stayed at Lakeside Resorts for one night with our 2 dogs.honestly we were blown away by how beautiful the property was from the rooms to the property to the bistro.the food was amazing and the staff were wonderful. Can't wait to go back in January we are scheduled for 2 nights!

We stayed in a chalet for four nights during the week and absolutely loved it. We brought our hound and it was a perfect spot for the three of us. She loved the trails and the pond, and meeting the campus dog. We loved the views from our chalet. The place was cozy and BnB-like. We liked the upscale style of it. Even though we didn’t use it, it was nice to have the option for a stove with pots and pans so you can make your own food. We made use of the fire pit once, it was still going when we came back one night. The guest lounge is accessible from the fire pit and is available 24/7, and conveniently has a restroom, vending machine, coffee, etc.

We would definitely come back here on our next visit to Seneca lake!

We just had a wonderful one night stay in a lakeside cabin #35. We enjoyed wine on the porch in the evening, and walking the trails nearby. Our only regret is not bringing our dog. We will be back and will be telling all of our family and friends how lovely this place is!

We stopped in for Thanksgiving dinner during our trip to Finger Lakes and Mandie was amazing. She made us feel right at home, gave us great suggestions for exploring the area during the rest of our trip, and let us know of the lovely bonfire outside. Next time we visit Finger Lakes we will definitely stay at the resort. The restaurant has great vegan options.

The cutest lakeside retreat! The rooms were great and well kept. We ate at the bistro twice, for breakfast and lunch and it was delicious. The nightly bonfires are a nice touch. Would definitely recommend.

We had one of the cabins in front of the bistro. It had a wonderful view of the lake. There was a big grassy area for our pups. The cabin is new and has an urban rustic feel with concrete floors and wood trim. The kitchen is fully functional except no range. Bathroom and Bedroom are large. My only warning is that the heaters really heat so set the temp lower than you think you need. Loved the Bistro. Dinner was very good and the chef came out personally to see if we were happy. The same is true for breakfast where we even could adjust our order to be unstuffed french toast. Kudos to the 2 women who were on staff that night as they checked us in and were our wait staff. They were the best and didn't miss a beat as they attended to every detail. I would definitely stay again if in the area.
