Just spoke to someone over the phone, wanting to inquire about group rates. They immediately turned down my question and scolded me for not doing my research before hand. Whoever I spoke to seemed quite arrogant.

Laura has a true gift for this work. She poses thoughtful, critical questions and listens carefully to your answers. She helps you get down to the bottom of whatever problems you are facing. She is highly professional, flexible and accommodating. I am very grateful for her help and would recommend her without question.

Laura Young gifts the power of identifying, honoring and navigating difficult emotions. She explores word use and the intentions behind them and honors the fact we are all imperfect. She teaches through example of how to have regard for oneself while also having regard for others. Laura has incredible intuition, tolerates projection and picks up on nonverbal communication while remaining curious without criticizing. I have personally and professionally benefited from time spent with Laura Young.

Laura cuts through, in the gentlest way possible. My husband and I appreciate direct! For two people that have a strong bond but a tremendous amount of weight around them, along with an alpha stance, her guidance through listening, speaking, and mirroring was really helpful to rebuild our foundation. I have a lot of gratitude for her non-emotional, but compassionate and objective approach to us. And of course Copine is an extra bonus that really helps with healing. Thank you Laura for clearing the path.

I am a nutritionist in NYC and the Founder of NAO Wellness that specializes in working with individuals who have eating disorders ranging from anorexia, bulimia, compulsive over eating as well as food addictions.

I was working with a client whose progress was remarkable so I asked her who her therapist was and she directed me to Laura L. Young, LCSW. I always meet with professionals before I recommend them to ensure that my clients are in only the best hands

When I met with Laura, I experienced her as open and collaborative. What my clients have gotten is a therapist who listens, empathizes and when needed or requested offers feedback rather than a psychoanalytic blank wall. Her approach is interactive rather than passive.

There is a tremendous emotional component to disordered eating and so I send my clients to Laura L. Young, LCSW a psychotherapist with many years of experience in treating individuals with eating disorders and addictions. She also runs groups which is another facet of her practice that is very helpful to my clients as well because addictions and eating disorders can be very isolating. Without hesitation, I thoroughly recommend Laura as a therapist for addictions and group work.

I sought out Laura to get a better understanding of my experiences in romantic relationships. Her insight and perspective has not only given me what I was looking for; it is a conduit for meaningful and positive change in many aspects of life. While previous work with other therapists led to periods of reflection and thought, I find Laura’s approach to be more insightful and transformative.

Additionally I am impressed by her commitment to continuing training and development. Related to this, she is genuinely interested in feedback and a dialogue about the therapeutic process. This is something that I had not experienced previously and that I believe yields a more collaborative and effective environment for progress.

Hands down one of my most pleasant experiences I've had as an adult woman. Laura was recommended to me by a friend who has used her for couples therapy with much success and I chose to see her for individual sessions on a weekly basis. I saw her regularly for about 8 months and will continue to do follow ups. Totally worth it. Life changing and has brought much clarity and peace of mind with my day to day struggles.

Laura Young (psychotherapist) was referred through a friend who I witnessed a powerful and positive transformation. My friend worked with Laura both for individual and group psychotherapy and had made several successful referrals to Laura for couple’s counseling as well. As this was my first time seeking out marriage therapy, my husband and I had concerns.

I appreciated from the beginning the professional, prompt and kind response I received when I contacted Laura. At her office, my husband and I felt her detailed initial questionnaire gave us both a lot to think about.

Her approach is engaging and thought provoking. She does not just play ‘traffic cop’ to direct who is right and who is wrong, which I think, on a certain level, we both longed for. Rather, she encourages us to bring our immediate challenges into the sessions. In this manner, we are beginning to widen our lens and increase our awareness of the roles and patterns that we have developed that were not serving us except toward thoughts of divorce.

Through our weekly marital therapy, our willingness to do the needed work during the sessions and Laura’s keen and attuned observations of our negative ways of communicating, as well as her guidance in co-creating new ways of relating, we are moving toward ending our couples therapy. And, as Laura noted, ‘we can always return for an occasional tune-up’ if/when we find ourselves returning to old patterns.

My husband and I walked into Laura’s office with minimal hope to resurrect our marriage. We are leaving her office seeking to renew our wedding vows. We highly recommend Laura.
Signed, Carmeta

We had a couple of sessions with Marissa who works with Laura. She was great, very thoughtful, engaging and asked us some great thought provoking questions. I would highly recommend her.
