Cocktail Bar LB reviews
18I think this place would be more enjoyable not after hours on a friday.we came at like 11pm and it was pretty packed but only waited maybe 30 min for a table.the drinks were decent and they had allllll the classics - i really liked the nevada but not really the paloma.the table seating area was very intimate and nice though.service was also extremelyyyyyy fast.
Great spot with cool ambiance and good drinks! One of the servers was really rude to us though. We also saw him cornering other customers about their tip before we left. Not very welcoming
Terrible staff and service, the hostess cheated when paying, do not come to this place ever
The atmosphere offered a sense of privacy in a very chill space…. Great for a few friends or even a date.
Kind of pretentious compared to other speakeasies, ponytail bartender was unnecessarily rude. I’d go elsewhere
Place almost completely empty - but still not allowed to sit in a booth - “they have to be kept free”. Not very welcoming. Let’s hope some people turn up before the place goes bust. Plus there’s a distinct smell of urine. Could have been a protest at the seating arrangements.
The bouncer of the bar insisted to take photos with girls in our group and asked for their phone number, making everyone very uncomfortable and not feeling safe
Excellent cocktails. Nice underground vibe. One of NY's best speakeasys. Love that the menu has no food except for mixed nuts.
The best speakeasy in town, lovely atmosphere. They have live Jazz on Monday nights (I think?). Drinks are pricy but well worth it.
Line moves relatively quick if there is one. Drinks are delicious but it’s so crowded. If you tend to get claustrophobic, definitely skip. It’s an underground bar and gets tight in there.
We were able to walk in a few minutes after 6pm on a Friday, and were surprised to find the place empty (perhaps since it was a beautiful evening, and sitting underground in the dark wasn't as appealing at that hour). We were given a booth adjacent to the bar, and selected from a menu of both cocktail classics and unique house twists on several common drinks. We enjoyed both the Bee's Knees and Sea Way No. 2. The front area of the was set up for a jazz band later that night, which would be fun to go back and experience. Overall, a cool speakeasy setting with good drinks and ambiance.
I used to love Little Branch, came here every other week or so with friends. The downstairs cozy atmosphere, candle light, jazz music, cocktails and small seating booths were magic.
It's incredible to see what a difference lighting can make. The candles were replaced with plastic electric lighting, and now the whole place reminds me of the knockoff Disney Pirate fanstore outside of Orlando. It's too bright, the fake candles "flicker" robotically and it seems to cater to a very budget conscious demographic. It breaks my heart to see a once great place lose so much in integrity and vibe/atmosphere.
Stay away, the package doesn't make sense anymore.
Very rude and not helpful bartender (serving at the walk up side of the bar) tonight. I’ve been here other times and had great experiences but he was such a big turnoff.
LB might be one of the best speakeasy’s in the city. It’s the last thing you’d expect when looking at the entrance, but you are blown away once you walk down to the basement. It’s super cozy and intimate. Perfect for a date or a few cocktails with friends. My girlfriend and I took her parents here when they were in town and they loved it. There’s live music during the week and a lot more space than I expected. The cocktails were incredible!
Great atmosphere, every staff person has an upbeat attitude, from the bouncer to the servers to the bartenders. They made a drink recommendation based on some preferences, and it was perfection. Would love to go back and try more, as this was an outstanding experience.
They don't have A/C in this underground location. It was unbelievably hot inside, making it extremely uncomfortable to stay inside.
If I could leave negative stars I would. The AC was out and no one told us. We are sweltering in a booth. We ordered a basic tequila soda and it was $19. Barely any attention or service. I would think twice about coming here.
Just be careful of the dark staircase down! But otherwise a super cool speakeasy low lit vibe. Everyone in my group got a different cocktail and we all loved them so much. I recommend the Fanatic Atlantic (i think that’s what it was called?) Super easy and good pre dinner drink spot
