Saturday. 8.15pm
I discover the bilboquet.pleasant welcome by a man.
After all becomes a nightmare. Deplorable service.we are asked to choose less 5 mn after our arriving.we were a Tartar tuna.hardly have we started eating, that the waiter asks us if we are finished.the tarare was bland like the presentation.
We are then squeezed a fish. A dish so empty is dry that we sent our plates back.only the Sancerre was pleasant.no apology, no commercial gesture. Only the bill arrived on the table, we ask to settle it.
$295 for two tartars and glasses of Sancerre for two person.
I never spend time rating restaurants.but i'm making an effort for this one. Horrible, both in service and in food.go your way

Absolutely wonderful food and atmosphere. From the moment we entered, we were graciously greeted and the front of house staff working the dining room were just delightful. We were seated early and it was lovely to see the room fill through the evening. The food was exceptional, with everyone from the kids (12,15) to the grandparents (70.something) just loving their choices. The standout was the moules marinières. Done to perfection, the preparation and presentation in its own Le Cruise-style pot was a flourish.

I was the smallest bit apprehensive about the earlier reviews around the attitude and atmosphere but our experience was entirely enchanting, without ego and very gracious. Is it an on-season/off-season thing? I couldn't say but the impression was that the team in place now is a great one.

5/5: appetizers- the scallop and truffle risotto blew our minds.

3/5: Main dishes - we ordered for seafood paste and Cajun chicken. Both are very meh. Chicken is dry.

1/5: Staff. Quite arrogant and condescending- especially the guys at the front desk taking folks in.

There's not much exceptional about this restaurant except the views, which are beautiful.

Like many tourist destinations in the Hamptons, the food is okay at best and the prices will have you wishing you ordered a pizza. I've eaten here three times (once of my own accord, both other times for group functions) and every single meal was underwhelming. Wait staff also appear to take their time coming back to the table, and seem to avoid eye contact when walking by.

I'll spend money like this at a good NYC steakhouse or an omakase bar and have a much better time.

The price suggests significantly better food and service than you'll receive here.

This was a really nice dinner. The food was great, the service professional, the atmosphere elegant and just a bit of good people watching. I don’t understand the negative reviews. For the South Fork, this is easily one of the nicest dinners you can have, and you should expect the restaurant to charge accordingly. That said, the steaks we had were enormous and seemed like good value to us New Yorkers. I’ll be going back regularly!

Very bizarre and comically bad experience.

Forced to order entrees, despite ordering every single appetizer and drinks.

Waiter pointed at the smallest print on the menu saying it’s required. (No one around us were eating)

Once our forced entrees arrived, portions were enormous, I did find the food tasty.

Waiters came around about every 5 - 10 mins to see if we were done and at one point we sort of gave up and let them take our forced entrees away.

Finally, at last call, we ordered a round, but promptly after receiving our drinks the restaurant closed and we were asked to leave.

It’s important to note that we were not rowdy, how can you when you’re not allowed to finish your food or drinks. Lol

On a positive note, the people watching is 10/10.

Inflexible and arrogant as far as service goes. Simply don’t care. Food overrated. Throw large quantities to compensate for quality and taste. Not the experience I was looking for. Living on past glory. Maitre de needs schooling in client service. Should not be three a day longer. Brand damaging infivdusl.

One of the worst dining experiences in my life. Prices are that of a 3 Michelin restaurant, but service and food is that of a one that barely made the guide. Food is average, service was awful. Our waiter made a condescending remark when I ordered Prosecco to pair with my fish saying “Prosecco is champagne, but ok…”, to which I responded technically it’s not champagne unless it comes from the province of Champagne lol. My final conclusion: overpriced and impeccably unprofessional.

Good food and great ambience in one of the most prime spots in Sag Harbor. That said, on busier weekends during peak season, the pretension of the restaurant can sometimes be a bit much and is amplified by the energy of some of its staff members.

I am never the one to write a review however, the experience we had here is unfathomable. I must say that out of all the restaurants we have been to- this was by far the worst and had the most unprofessional group of staff members.

The first round of our drinks arrived and 3 out of the 4 were incorrect- missing garnishes, incorrect wines etc. (Fine, mistakes happen.) However, as the lunch continued, we were left without service, drinks arriving 40 minutes late, incorrect side orders met with rude staff members snubbing our concerns.

As a family who has stayed in Sag throughout the summer months for going on eight years, it is a shame to have such a distasteful addition to downtown. A word of advice- treat others with respect and it will go a long way ;)

Arrogant. Entitled. Out of touch for 2022. Was a frequent customer for years. But the arrogance and being looked up and down at the door before letting you in when the place is 1/2 empty at lunch is ridiculous. This place needs an attitude update for the current times.

Location wise, this is one of the most ideal locations in Sag Harbor. Perfectly situated at the front of the marina and on the wharf. If you're visiting via boat it's super convenient and if you're driving, it's also perfectly located.
If you're familiar with Sag Harbor and haven't been in a while, it's where B Smith was located.
We had a wonderful dining experience with excellent food and cocktails. The service was also excellent which always makes a significant difference. Looking forward to returning.

We hit almost all the restaurants in Sag Harbor and this one came in last. Very arrogant maitre di, tired old french menu and the "view" is not special at all. Try Tutti il Giorno (very nice!) or LuLu (great)

Fantastic food. The hosts are always happy to see you and impeccably dressed. The truffle risotto is unbelievable and the meats are cooked to perfection (Unlike Topping Rose which i was not impressed). The Halibut is also amazing. I guess the entire menu is amazing when I think about it. Ive been at least 5 times this month and I can't wait to come back.

*WARNING* WAITRESS STOLE FROM MY CREDIT CARD. I was charged a higher amount and she then tipped herself 20 percent. They were not even busy. I’m still waiting for my money to be returned. Also, I gave her cash at 1st. She took the cash and then came back later and said she needed a credit card instead.

The food has even gone down. I was served soggy vegetables sitting in a pool of oil and my child ordered a lemonade that they made with sour mix from the bar.

Heirloom tomato salad as appetizer was böand and tasteless to say the least. There was a piece of meat on the floor next to our table from the previous guests. Tartar was OK and gazpacho and salmon were great. Come here for the atmosphere and not the food!

Charge over $20 for water. Location is incredible, but service is poor and food is average at best. Burger at 5 guys was better. Very overpriced. Also no clam chowder

Discriminatory and Waspy Establishment and Staff

Was turned away bc I'm a POC. Host claimed I was violating dress code (was wearing new DG Shoes, a Scotch & Soda top, Fendi sunglasses, Heron Preston accessories, Ferragamo watch/belt/wallet, and Dior pants). Host had the audacity to say I didn't fit their image, said in his opinion I didn't belong, and then proceeded to let various casually dressed white people in with unbuttoned linens and Bermuda shorts.

Would give zero stars if possible.
