This place was amazing! The duck for two was a perfect plate to share. Would come back again!

Awesome dinner tonight with two friends on 11/15/2023. Only one Michelin star but deserves at least two. Charles is a brilliant wine director, and Dan tried to stump us with the blind spirits tasting, but I was 3/3: Armagnac, Eau de Vie, and Calvados.

On our anniversary, we decided to celebrate at the restaurant of our choice. As soon as we arrived, the staff warmly greeted us, ensuring that our special day would be nothing short of exceptional. The portion sizes may have been modest, but the quality of the food surpassed our expectations, leaving us completely satisfied. Not only was the cuisine delicious, but the ambiance of the restaurant was truly enchanting, boasting a beautiful setting that captivated our senses. The staff's meticulous attention to detail further enhanced our experience, making us feel like cherished guests throughout the evening. Without a doubt, our time spent at the restaurant was absolutely delightful.

Our dinner last Friday was phenomenal. Everything was executed with perfection. The food was exceptional and the kitchen accommodated my wife’s gluten-free requirement with ease. The staff was very attentive and provided very helpful recommendations at every step. Special thanks to the sommelier, who obviously knows his craft extremely well, for recommending the perfect wines for every dish. This was our first time at Le Coucou, but it will not be our last.

0/10!
DO NOT GO THERE! We do not recommend this restaurant, has to be the worst Michelin star restaurant. Service is weird and bad, quality of food is very basic, nothing special about the tastes whatsoever, super way overpriced, it costs us nearly 1000$ for three guests, yes one thousand US dollars and on top of everything their wine selection is mediocre.

Enjoyed our 5th anniversary dinner at Le Coucou. The ambiance alone is magical. The service was excellent with a very attentive staff. James gave us wonderful recommendations, as it was our first time dining at this location. We enjoyed the oysters, yellowfin tuna, pike mousse, and the shared duckling with fig entree. Everything was cooked to perfection and very flavorful. Save room for dessert, we loved the marjolaine! Thank you for a lovely experience!

My Saturday dinning experience at le coucou was ok. As expected the service was very good and very professional. Where I was a little bit disappointed was the food. I had the sole and it was a bit on althenhard side with not as much of a nutty and parsley flavor as expected. The fish quenelle had an unusual gelatinous texture. Wine list was great with remarkable suggestions from the sommelier but wine list options are quite pricey.

I had one of the most magical dinners here with a friend. We like to go on food-adventures together, and on an evening when our plans had fallen through, we were walking down Lafayette and saw Le Coucou. We never thought we would get a table walking in off the street, but they surprisingly had a table reserved for walk-ins and we were seated immediately.

We sat at a tiny table in the corner next to the kitchen, clearly the least desirable seat in the house, but it was such an experience watching the kitchen and the waiters all evening, we loved it. We tried many things we had never heard of before, including Sweetbread, which we realized wasn’t bread at all, but in fact thymus. Despite our ignorance, everything was incredibly delicious.

Overall it was a dinner to remember, I hope to visit again. Maybe this time I’ll make a reservation.

We had a very nice lunch at Le Coucou.

My expectations were something around "elevated brasserie style" and I was indeed pleasantly surprised to come across some old-fashion bistrot dishes like "pâté en croûte", "vol-au-vent" or "baba au rhum". They were all solid, and by nature not chic or sophisticated. Some other dishes on the menu may have a creative twist in taste or presentation, but ours were just classic – yet enjoyable.

The service was top-notch, punctuated by several little attentions for my husband's birthday. We had a table overlooking the kitchen, which we loved. We stayed until 3pm and we appreciated not feeling rushed to leave.

Overall I assume most of the disappointed reviews may come from the promise of a Michelin "One star" experience. To me, the restaurant perfectly met the Michelin standards and definition of being: "very good in its category". But if you seek something that will leave you in awe, and dishes you'll still remember 5 years from now, this might not be the place.
So I would definitely recommend the place to someone who is briefed on the concept and/or wants to discover this part of French gastronomy history and/or just want a great elevated lunch experience.

Amazing place, amazing food and wine, excellent service. We chose Le Coucou to celebrate our marriage with family. We ordered Thon à la provençal (yellowfin tuna), Canette Sainte-Baume (a dish for 2 people), and Filet de boeuf. Thank you!

5/5: Ambiance and wine list are what make this dining experience stand out above others.
One of the most extensive wine lists packed full of gems.

Food was good, though I was not swept off my feet with our starter (foie grad pate and leeks) I will say they do a fantastic job with the leek dish. Perfectly prepared and tender.

Cocktails were perfect!
Entrees did not disappoint.
Highly recommend the bone marrow filet and lobster.

The desert was probably the best part of the meal.

At the bottom of 11 howard, near the blond, really liked the yellowfin tuna, great appetizer. The sea bass with shrimp was a nice lighter meal but still fulfilling.the whole rabbit (tout le lapin) comes in 3 parts. The first one was the best IMO, cannot remember what it was. Second part was legs with.broth, and the last was the breast. Legs were really tender and cooked well.that's a big meal! The marjolaine is a flourless cake, so gluten free, comes with a bit of ice cream on the side which accompanied well.very knowledgeable on GF items.le demode- cocktail, really good

I recently dined at this Michelin one-star restaurant, and I must say, it left me underwhelmed. I can only give it one star here on Google also ️ because the overall experience was far from what I expected. The food lacked the excitement and creativity I associate with Michelin-starred establishments, resembling something you might find at a standard bistro in Paris. Additionally, the service, while not terrible, was just average. I would recommend exploring other dining options to make the most of your time and money.

Wasn’t a great experience. Food was mediocre at best and the service somehow feels a bit rigid and stressful? However they were relatively tentative and the decor was chic. Receptionists are nice

A refined place for a special occasion meal. The rabbit (served 3 ways) was a great treat, and the hazelnut chocolate cake Marjolain was heavenly.
The portions are quite small so you the very minimum you want to order for 2 are 2 cold apps, 1 hot app and 2 entrees.
I didn't really enjoy the buckwheat fried eel and seafood gratin which was soaked in cream but my husband liked them.
The service was attentive and a bit distant without being snobby- a perfect way to give people some privacy during their nice dinner time.

I can’t wait to return to this place. The food, service and the whole place were great. Nice place to go out both for a date night and a dinner with friends.

We had dinner here to celebrate a friend’s birthday and loved the interiors and decorations. Luckily we got window seats and a lovely small round table.

The seaweed sourdough is amazing! We had tuna and four gras to kick off tonight’s dinner, tuna with the creaming sauce is very fresh. Foie gras is a cold jelly slice warp with pastry, a good balance between the sour acidic, and creamy crunch.

We order seabass and lobster for the second dish, these two are very classic French styles, honestly, we get more bread to finish the lobster sauce lol

The main dish we got was the rabbit, it came with a cold dish, a soup, and pan-fried dark meat. It is nice to share with 2-3 people.

The dessert was impressive and cute, we got a hazelnut chocolate cake, and my friend got an ice cream as a birthday gift. We wrapped this meal with mini mini-size of macaron and madeleine.

Overall it is a nice place with family, friends, or dates.
