Le French Diner reviews
19Everything I love about a NYC neighborhood restaurant: intimate, unfussy, and quality driven. Every dish was excellent, but the standouts were the chickpea crepe and the hangar steak. Wine BTG was wonderful as well. Would highly recommend.
Steak tartare, escargot, and steak with au gratin are to die for. This was my third time going and it thoroughly cemented itself as one of my favorite restaurants in NYC period. It is the perfect hidden gem and such a cozy atmosphere that really makes you feel like you're "in the know" when you go with how few seats there are. Wine list is great and fairly priced as well. Can't wait to go back!
Rude service- apparently you can only sit at the bar if you plan on eating a “full dinner” -quote from Pierre
Excellent sea bream and hanger steak. The ramps pancake was also fantastic. Sit at the bar for the best kitchen views.
The other reviews are spot on. The food is incredible, the wine list is spot on, and the vibe is killer. They don’t do reservations but the wait list process is great and they’ll call you when a table opens up. Make sure to get the flatbread appetizer and the octopus! I’ll def be going back often!
Great place that caters really well to singles since most of the seating is around the bar. The food was really tasty and the service friendly and relaxed.
This is the best restaurant in new york city, hands down, no question.not much else to even say besides it’s perfect
This place serves the meanest welcome (maybe that’s just some Irish charm or lack of Irish charm) and the biggest game of musical chairs but it’s all worth it for the magnificent food. Wow!
Incredible fresh food! Great service. My only complaint is it is a very tiny restaurant so you'll be sitting very close to others.
Three tables-and-a-bar hole-in-the-wall served up the best hanger steak I’ve ever had. The steak tartare and escargot were also excellent.
Hands down the greatest egg, of any style, I’ve ever had. In my life. Cut it in half to enjoy it longer. Actually, it was the best octopus I’ve had as well. Like, perfect. This place is tiny, zero pretense, great vibes. 10/10
I tried this place already with my friend and I am hooked ever since. I love the great atmosphere and delicious dishes and drinks. They never disappoint.
French food and the scene at this spot is excellent.i've had nothing but great experiences here and will keep coming back.prices were good for how much you get.food is similar to a place in san francisco i loved.
I love this restaurant very much.theres a happy atmosphere. The food is tasty.the service is dynamic and the team is polite. The pay is reasonable. I definitely recommend.
I mean come on! What an adorable space. What delicious food!
Octopus-YUM.
Charcuterie board-YUM.
Yeah, it's not cheap. But a WONDERFUL spot.
RIGHT by my apartment, so I use this restaurant to impress friends and family!
Love this place. Now with outdoor seating on Orchard Street!
Delicious octopus plate. I’d recommend pairing with a glass of Riesling.you can thank me later:)
Loved it, intimidated and cozy space. Everything was written on a board so I think it's a rotating menu. The hood was delicious and I would come back again.
Beautifully executed French classics, updated with a twist. We had the escargots, octopus, hanger steak and duck. All just gorgeous - with the charred octopus offset by a tangy, lemony aïoli and the perfectly cooked duck highlights for me. Oh and the service couldn’t have been friendlier. Serendipity is a great thing in weird times.
