Le Pain Quotidien reviews
20They brought us the latte in a soup-type bowl, without a plate, spoons or napkins. There was no black coffee or chocolate cake (basic). Expensive for no reason.
Possible the worst coffee you can get in Manhattan and for the most expensive pastry.
Don’t waste your money!
Dear Manager of La Pain Quotidien,
I just left the place in tears after encountering the rudest person I've seen in the service industry in a long time. I stood at the cashier waiting to pay for my smoked salmon croissant, but she ignored me, loudly engrossed in conversation with her manager, as if on a stage. When I asked why she hadn't noticed me for so long while facing me, she rudely told me to relax and mind my own business. Instead of something simple as " hello" or " sorry about the wait" She also yelled at me with laughing attitude while I was walking away from her out of the store.
Feeling utterly disgusted and humiliated, I had no choice but to leave with out taking my salmon croissant even though I was so hungry, my eyes brimming with tears.
This person, with short hair and a slim brown turtleneck slim sweater, shouldn't be working in customer service. I wish I knew her name. She's working today, 10/26/2023, and I hope the management takes this incident seriously. I wanted to report this as I have been coming to this place over the years and have never experienced anything like this. I feel so humiliated and disgusted.
Very delicious food and a great atmosphere. Very friendly personnel. Definitely worth a second visit.
Huge bakery, lots of good stuff including cookies, pastries, bread, confectionery. Large sitting area to dine in plus a small bar area. Didn’t seem to be busy during weekday lunch hours.
I tried some of the bakery stuff, really tasty. Also got the chicken mozzarella tartine to go. It took forever to get the order. We waited about 15-20 minutes. The chicken and the cheese were good, but bread was super hard, had to keep biting and chewing to get it in.
Staff are nice and friendly. Bakery and dine-in areas are mostly clean. I’d visit here more for bakery, not so much for lunch meals though.
We had the worst croque monsieur ever that tasted like it was microwaved. They shouldn’t even call it that.
Delicious lentil soup accompanied by stale bread, served by a surly waitress. After many good experiences with this chain today’s visit was rather disappointing.
The General Manager Arif was very helpful and have an outstanding personality. His staff showed me warm people person vibes. They all show great hospitality and they all are very friendly and have patience. I would travel to buy a sandwich and coffee again.
It was very tasty and you are in very good hands there. The waitress Habigail S. Was very accommodating and friendly.
Thanks for the great service.
If I could leave zero stars, I would. The host there was RUDE. I stopped by because my nephew really had to use the bathroom. This woman comes out of nowhere and tells me we need to be paying customers. I told her that’s not a problem but can we use the bathroom first. I’m not gonna take food with me into the stale, that’s nasty. She tells me “he can wait in line but you have to purchase something”. The problem I had is the fact that she was only pinpointing my nephew and I out. So I asked her “does everyone in this line have to be paying customers or just us? ” Because the guy in front of me literally walked in right before me but she didn’t seem to say anything to him. So I buy something and her the host goes standing right next to us as if we need assistance to use the bathroom and of course as we’re leaving, guess who’s right behind us. Ridiculous!
Nice place to get some breads and pantries, with quite a few options. By the flatiron! Seating area available.
Took us a while to get the food served because they were running short of people in the kitchen. But at the end the breakfast was delicious.
Food not great and expensive.lousy service.our meal was missing a lot of items.had to keep asking but waitress not aroind much
Hot mess maintenance wise. Bathroom was dirty, poorly stocked and with 3 dispensers, two not working and one malfunctioning. Outdoor terrace dirty and indoor etiquete of service poor.
Had a pleasant experience there two ago: ordered mushroom quiche and a bowl of soup. Both were very tasty.
Service was alright.
I’ve been a regular at LPQs cafes for yrs (various locations) and their food and bakery is top notch. Good strong coffee as well, props. BUT, this particular branch says it closes at 7 pm, and when I reached it at 645 pm yesterday to grab a few bakery items on my way home, they had locked the doors and a guy inside saw me and shrugged when I said its not 7 yet. I could see they had emptied the shelves of food already so it had been locked way before I reached. PLEASE either correct the timings you advertise being open, or keep the place open for customers when you say you are open. I got out early from work just to make it here before it closed and it was shut prematurely.
Always simple and delicious! We came for breakfast and they are consistently delicious. Too bad they took away all the spreads after Covid…
Great bakery food- had the Belgian waffle, quiche, bread basket, croissant and pane au Chocolat. Staff was friendly and attentive. All the food was hot and fresh.
It's too slow to receive orders
Orders are slow to come out
Even the calculations and meeting the server were slow.
It's not that I couldn't stand it because my temper was impatient.
Bye bye, even compared to the US and New York, it's so damn slow
It's right next to the Harry Potter store.
I was surrounded without a plan hehehe
The breads are very good, it is possible to get just half a loaf, the loaves are also freshly sliced. The condition was very friendly. We had enjoyed coming to Le Pain Quotidien on a number of occasions. We never went for coffee, maybe next time, the coffee was always busy. Anyone who prefers good fresh bread is in good hands here. See you soon.
