Great atmosphere and kitchen. Delicious meal makes me feel like in Europe. Thank you, chef, your job is fabulous. Guy with beard is highly positive and his service is excellent. Awesome place for dinner and relaxing. Great job!

One of our absolute favorite places in Manhattan. The food is delicious, the drinks are bomb, and Chef Nuno and all the staff are so nice! You can tell they value providing customers with a great experience. This is a spot we will always come back to.

We had a group dinner here outside in the rain. The place had such yummy food and nice servers. They were very apologetic about the rain, which honestly couldn't be helped. Between five women, we had three appetizers, one salad, two entrees, and two desserts (plus one on the house). That was more than enough food and we all left very happy. The octopus salad and shrimp appetizer were my favorite savory items, and the poached pear was my favorite sweet item.

One of my favorite restaurants in the city! Had dinner with a large group of friends here and everyone was impressed with how delicious the food was. Staff were also super attentive throughout the night and went above and beyond to make the night enjoyable. Definitely give the salad de polvo, piri piri chicken, and pasteis de nata a try!

First time this week and it was a great experience. Stopped in impromptu for dessert. (They don’t have coffee btw). Really good selection of traditional Portuguese desserts. I got the pear with Porto wine dessert (pictured below). The description is spot on - cinnamon-y with pepper. It’s very different from traditional American desserts but delicious still! The waitstaff were super friendly and welcoming; also quite knowledgeable to explain the options since I’m not too familiar with this style of cuisine!

I’d like to return for a full meal!

We are fans of Portuguese cuisine and finally had an authentic meal in NYC from Leitao. Their outdoor dining is simple and cozy with limited seating.

Their menu is well designed even with videos to show how it looks like so it made us easy to decide what to order. We got Salad de Polvo, Ameijoas em Caldeirada, Cabrito no Forno and Sandes de Pernil to share with a group of 4.

The food was impressively delicious with reasonable price & portion. Our favorites were the clam bowl which was extremely appetizing and the satisfying shredded pork sandwich.

We also love their Pasteis de Nata which was extremely creamy and rich.

Just had lunch at Leitao. Food was excellent! Service was great! We had a really nice time and will definitely return. We had the Francesinha, Octopus sandwich, meatballs and custard tarts and caipareihna coctail to drink. Everything was delicious. Custard tarts were warm and fresh.some of the best I've had. A solid 5 stars.

Portuguese tarts were delicious and highly recommend the iberico pork ribs.

Tried the Francesinha which was interesting but it is a super heavy sandwich. Id recommend sharing between 4 people. Peri peri chicken was a little dry but the skin was crispy!

Leitao is my favorite Portuguese spot in the city. Came here last night with a cute French guy and the experience blew us away! As always, the food is amazing. The clams in wine broth is a must to order, but you can’t go wrong with any other dish. Service is outstanding. From the host Nuno to the friendly waiters. The atmosphere is immaculate, perfect for a date night. I would be coming back for the clams. Thanks Nuno and team for the Leitao experience!

Excellent Portuguese food and a super fun atmosphere. We come here often after work to grab dinner and drinks with friends, and everyone we’ve introduced to Leitao love it. The Portuguese inspired cocktails are amazing twists on classics, and we often find ourselves 3-4 rounds deep. Highly recommend the meatballs, escargot, octopus, and the arroz de marisco. Service is great, and have chatted occasionally with the owner when we’re by the bar.

This is our favorite restaurant in the neighborhood! The owner, Nuno, is very attentive, and the staff follows in his footsteps. We have tried many dishes and loved them all, but some of our favorites are the Octopus salad and the ribs. As other reviews mention, you can’t go wrong with their Portuguese cocktails and the craft brew selection. Highly recommend visiting this spot!

I’ve been missing Portugal so much and when I happened to walk by on Wednesday I ran into the manager Steven. I hopped in and it felt like I was back in Lisbon! The wine/port list is great and the foods feels just anything you’d get in Lisbon or Porto! So happy I found this gem, will certainly be coming back!

Finally tried Leitão and was not disappointed.
The restaurant has a warm environment and the bar is separate but buzzing with good music. Now, on to the food.
My friends and I tried the caracóis (+ bread), cabrito no forno, arroz de mariscos & the burrata salad - all were delectable. The portions of everything were generous and easy to share. We had some vinho da Madeira & pastéis de nata to round out the evening. The service was also attentive. (Shout out to Davide)

Absolutely delicious, authentic Portuguese food in the West Village. I highly recommend the appetizer meatballs and the Prego no Pao. The Francesinha was good, but not as good as everything else. The Pasteis de Nata (Portuguese Egg Tarts) were otherworldly, and a must get at this restaurant.

A friend of mine and me chanced upon Leitao this evening and had dinner outside in the warm glow of the heating lamp. The food, a flaming Chourico sausage for appetizer, sea bass for main course, and custard tart for desert, was terrific. The service was truly welcoming and friendly. We had a wonderful evening and we will be back. Thank you!

The staff was really friendly and welcoming, and so I regret to have to leave this review. The dinner gave my husband and I food poisoning - my husband had one shrimp of the shrimp appetizer, and was mildly sick (nauseous for 24 hours), but I had the entirety of the shrimp appetizer outside of my husband's one shrimp and got so sick I almost ended up in the ER. I got medical help and all my symptoms were on point with food poisoning. I've never been this sick in my life. PLEASE HANDLE YOUR FOOD WELL! I am so grateful we didn't go with our 3 year old as I can't imagine what this would have done to a child.

In terms of restaurant it was for sure the best experience we had in our holidays in NY! The food is amazing, homemade and so fresh! It was our wedding anniversary and we had the best, Will helped us with the menu and drinks! He is the best! Highly recommended the restaurant!

Truly authentic and delicious Portuguese food in a beautifully intimate setting. We had the Bolinos, Camarão Alho, and the Chouriço to start. Everything came out super fast. The Chouriço was my particular favorite.
The Francesinha was amazing - a hearty dish with all kinds of meats.
The Natas for dessert were perfect.

One thing that stood out were the awesome drinks - the Amarguinha was like nothing I’ve had! Definitely have to go back and try more.

Everyone was so friendly and welcoming, we had a great time. Check it out!
