I would never write a review normally, however this is to give what is due to the staff at Lenox Hills Hospital. Respect is not given.it is earned, because some of us feels entitled we forget our manners n blame others. Not all staff was great but i dont know their story. I was scheduled for back surgery on 2/1/23. I walked in at 5am that morning, Imani who registered me for admission was my first smile. Imani u were awesome. A very pleasant greeting from the person who received the admitting paper work on the 10th floor. Pre-op Nurse Angela, u are one of kind, u are exceptional, u help to eliminate my fears n anxiety, thank u. The surgical team was phenomenal. Recovery Nurse Natalia, your affection, u cheered me on when i finally urinated so comforting how u bust into a cheer leading (YES). Thank u and Sehera for my Safety. The 8th floor staff: Nurse Kathy, Xiao, Lydia and Delia, u ladies are Lenox Hill Hospital Finest, the best, rare gems. Donita n Michelle thank u, the food services staff, wonderful. PT, PCA, pain mgmt.phlebotomy team thank u all for the best services, carinng for me when i was most vulnerable from 2/1-2/4.

Review for Orthopedics dept.only: The 1-1 with the doctor went well. After the appointment, he said that he'd prescribe some medication and they'd send it over to my pharmacy. Problem is, they never did. I've tried calling them 3 times within the 24hrs of my appointment and there's no record of my prescription anywhere.the doctors have different schedules so they were unable to get a hold of my doctor either.

It's been 48hrs and I'm stuck without the medication. Very pathetic patient service!

It's a just place filled up with rude people. You ask them one more word they lose all their patience. Not recommend it.

Was sent here from CityMD due to high levels of concern regarding my high fever (103) and my high heart rate (140). It’s being suspected that it could be gastrointestinal bleeding which requires immediate medical attention from an ER. Yet here I am waiting close to an hour, with very little answers as to when I’ll be seen. For a very serious prognosis I thought I would be taken a little seriously but alas I am still waiting for admission to investigate my matter further. Important to note: tested negative to COVID, flu and strep throat.

I lost someone who was like a father to me he was 89
he had spent almost 3 months between hospitals & physical rehab
He was only in Lenox Hill less than a week but they took such good care of him when at the end I could not be there due to Covid
They called me more than once a day kept me updated
they kept him comfortable and happy they dialed the phone for him to call me
And after he was gone they sent a beautiful handwritten card signed by his whole geriatrics & palliative medicine team️‍?
Than you so much for everything

This is a amazing Hospital! Dr Iyer and his staff became part of the family through my Dads surgery. They kept us updated at all times. My Dad received the best possible care for a surgery that was never performed before and became a study. We Love the Staff and Doctors who helped him and can not Thank them enough. ️️️

Was here for a major but routine abdominal surgery-it was a mixed experience. Overall the place is small and cluttered- some areas have been recently been given a facelift, some areas are very grungy. Some of the newer areas already appear worn, with the fancy tiles falling off the walls and scuffed dirty floors. The general impression of this place, besides the 'nice' wing, is that it is poorly kept up and poorly managed.
When I was sent to the surgery floor, there was no one at the reception desk and I had to call for someone. When they arrived, they seemed very irritated at being bothered and took off toward the pre-op area, barking instructions at me so fast I didn't understand what I was supposed to do. I tried to ask when we got to my station, but they walked away as I was speaking to them. At this point my anxiety was through the roof.
Eventually the pre-op nurse came, and they were much better, and were considerate to my fears as they helped me prepare.
When the time came, I was walked back by a nurse named Edmund. The hallway leading back to the OR is poorly lit and littered with out of service equipment. It is as creepy as it sounds. As we walked back I became more and more anxious. The door to the operating room had a glass window with some kind of gross white film on it that was smeared and broken up and half rubbed off. The room inside was extremely cluttered and felt dirty, with black scuffs on the walls and floor like it's never been deep cleaned in years. Compared to the bright and scrupulously clean OR's I've had surgery at in other hospitals, this was like something out of a horror movie.
I stood there, shaking and terrified, tears soaking my mask, and was ignored. Finally someone said, with a sigh and a sinking tone "oh, she's crying. " One of the technicians that was laying out instruments shoved a hard crinkly napkin at me but no one said anything more but just went about their business. At one of the most vulnerable and frightening moments of my life, I was just another inconvenience. I felt utterly uncared for and alone.
Eventually I was directed to lie down on the operating table by Edmund and then another nurse with beautiful green-gold eye makeup came in and said something comforting and took away the scratchy napkin and squeezed my hand and dabbed at my eyes with a soft cloth. Whoever you were, thank you for treating me like an actual human being.
In recovery my bed was parked right next to the nurses station terminal. I was forced to listen to all the gossip and aggravation of the staff loudly talking about each other and other patients in mean and unflattering ways. Also, because it was right next to the terminal, my bed was constantly jostled and banged into over and over, which was very painful after abdominal surgery. I had to put up with this nightmare for what felt like hours until the anesthesia wore off enough that I could speak.
Everything improved when I was finally wheeled into my private room in the 'nice' wing, which I had paid the highest price for the privilege. It was very peaceful inside and the room was as comfortable as a hospital room could be. All of the staff in this wing seemed professional and helpful, and caring. I feel that it is definitely worth it to pay more if you are forced to come here.

In all, a lot of highs and lows. It's clear that some of the staff, like Edmund, seem burnt out and might not have a lot of kindness within them left to give. Some just don't seem to care and are more interested in themselves, their Saturday night plans, and gossiping. Some are tuned-in, kind, and take their jobs seriously. Because of the inconsistency in the professionalism of the staff and the general grunginess, lack of care, and clutter of the majority of the facilities, my experience at Lenox Hill was mostly stressful and upsetting. Even though the results of the surgery went well, I can't in good faith recommend this hospital.

My dad was hospitalized twice within one month. The Wollman unit.staff was outstanding. They actually, care about patients. Not one time my dad complained.
I observed cleanliness, hospitality towards family and friends. Must mention upon calling to inquire about love ones, you will get alive person on the phone. Thank you Lenox Hill

End of life care for my father was incredibly compassionate and professional. Everyone we interacted with was highly supportive in a very challenging and emotional situation. I especially want to thank: Dr. Patel, Dr. Remar, Dr. Birchfield who all attended to my father and to us through the dying process. Nurses Tiffany and Natalia in the URIS who were there all the time with authentic caring. Erin, the wound care nurse, who showed her passion and commitment in caring for elderly in a dignified manner. Andrea and Margaret, the incredibly compassionate and effective social workers who helped guide myself and my family. Thank you all, I will always remember the kindness, love and compassion that you showed to me and my family.

Fastest ER I’ve ever been to. Second time and it was again super efficient, not necessarily the doctors with best bedside manner but they do the job quickly which in the end is better than most ERs where you sit there all day.

Two of the nurses were amazing but for the most part, it was a negative experience, specifically having to deal with an indifferent staff.

Dedicated and caring doctors and nurses. Definitely a cut above the hospitals in the outer burrows of New York City. I had a triple bypass and the outcome was superb.

It’s a good hospital, but they have a horrible system that you cannot communicate with your doctors office. You have to leave a message and sometimes they get back to you sometimes I don’t.

Nasty nurses who often make you as a patient feel like dirt. I couldn’t wait to leave. Doctors agreed with me. No positive response to patients. I was intimidated by most of the nurses and asked if they hate their job,
