Lewin Medical Supply, Riverhead NY

I ordered a CPAP mask from this company awhile back, received it without issue. Then months later they without my permission shipped another mask and billed my insurance company. To add insult to injury the masked they shipped was the wrong mask. I contacted them and asked to have them send me a return label. They ignored my request. I contacted my insurance company who reached out to them. They received no response. I am not one to do reviews on a company however what they have done I believe is fraud. I would never deal with company

I wish I could give less than 1 star.
I am a long time customer of Lewin’s. My mom and dad have both needed orthopedic and medical supplies for years. Recently my dad was coming home from the hospital after a long stay and I needed to rent a recliner and hospital bed. I called lewin 1st even though the hospital recommended other companies.

The salesperson Chris was very helpful, he understood that I needed the items delivered before I brought my dad home. I was told the truck would be leaving Riverhead around 8: 30am and I should get my delivery by 12: 00. He even ran it by someone with authority before scheduling the delivery.
I paid someone to stay at my dad’s house and wait to receive it while I went to NYC to get him out of the hospital.

I was surprised to find out that the delivery didn’t arrive by 2: 00, when I called Lewin’s they weren’t apologetic, in fact they were unaware the delivery didn’t come. They called me back a few minutes later to say the driver “had a lot of oxygen emergencies”. I arrived home with my Dad, he’s seriously ill so it was a major fiasco not having a place to lay him down when we arrived.
Finally after 3pm the delivery arrived.
Still no apology from Lewin’s management. The next day I called to let them know how disappointed I was and to see if they would refund the $50 delivery fee since they didn’t make the deadline.

Here’s why I’ll never buy another thing from them and you shouldn’t either:
Instead of having any empathy for a very sick person and family dealing with it, the “owner” Keith spoke down to me and “schooled” me about how they don’t have any competition except amazon, there’s no other medical supplies that deliver anymore, how he did me a favor by delivering to Northport because “it’s not worth it”. He spoke to me in such a condescending tone and I’m NOT a thin-skinned person, so brazen because he feels he has no competition. Just disgusting behavior for any business owner but particularly one handling the needs of sick people and their family.
For the record, he’s WRONG. I hung up with him and called one of the companies the hospital gave me and they delivered a bed and chair the next day, exactly as promised. I had lewin come to pick their stuff up immediately. American Express said they would gladly do a charge back to lewin for the month rental (I had their stuff less than a week) given the circumstances but I decided they can keep the money and they can keep the consequences of their leader’s behavior.
Such a sin for such a hateful person to be in a business that should require kindness.
Edited to add Keith just had the audacity to call me to threaten me to say “he’s going to make me famous” for writing an honest review. Insane!
I will not be intimidated by this irresponsible person!

They helped sort out an insurance issue, and I got the walker I needed the same day I went in. Very happy!

The staff at Lewin Medical supply are just amazing. I called and ordered a hospital bed and they delivered it the very same day, they came and set the bed up very fast and they went over how to use it as well. Just wonderful. Thanks guys I really appreciate it. Keep up the good work!

I recently found out just how hard it is to get to get quality service on the East End of Long Island. Lewin Medical Supply gives amazing service and they carry so many products. I just had to share for others that don't know where to go, an array of products and helpful staff to show you how to use and care for whatever your medical needs are.

Great customer service and people working there. Having to care for my grandmother I feel like I'm there every week and everyone is always such a delight. Lewins brothers are great guys.
