Lightning Society, Brooklyn NY

I attended a party as well as an open mic Salon here. Had an amazing time at both. The space is spacious and beautiful, and the hosts are as open and welcoming as they are creative and talented. Joined the mailing list and will be attending as many events as I can.

Lightning has felt like home away from home in my early year moving into the city. A community filled with creative, kind and quirky creatures that will nurture your spirit and put a smile on your face everyday. I’ve had the pleasure of building meaningful connections through the community and I highly recommend anyone to attend, be present and curious to answer to your own question of “what is this community all about? ” you shall answer to it through your own experience.oh and keep going back, one time is not enough.

When in NY, come by some of the lively events the crew at Lightning crafts. It’s very rare that a wonderful community with brilliant artistic people open their doors to include and warmly welcome everyone who’s celebrating creative expression and art. I’ve had numerous enlightening and energizing conversations, created lifelong friendships and artistic collaborations in this wonderful space that many call home.

This space is so wholesome and loving. Everytime I leave this homey space I feel so inspired to continue working on artistic projects and connect. I also always leave with new friends. This place is amazing. Spiritual, loving, enlightening, perfect.

Loved being able to experience all the different performers in a welcoming, light hearted and safe space.

Lightning Society is my favorite community group in Bushwick. Their events are educational, enriching and heart warming. Their team consciously curates creative events that are very much in alignment with their mission of community building. I’ve met some incredible people though Lightning Society and I’m looking forward to meeting more!

An amazingly welcoming and creative community of interesting people from all walks of life. As someone new to the city who didn't know anyone, it was an awesome way to instantly become a part of a community.

To say I am very grateful for my experience at the Lightning Society would be an understatement. I had the pleasure of living in this community for 2 years. It was inclusive, fun, diverse, enriching & overall, in my opinion, it is one of the best ways to live and learn among wonderful humans while still having access to the wonderful world of New York. NYC can be lonely, but with the Lightning Society, everything from the events to the friendships - made me feel like I always had a place to belong.

This space holds a deep love, intention and sacredness that I have yet to experience anywhere else in NYC. My first experience here was around the pandemic and Lightning Society embodied what each of us deeply needed… togetherness. Community. Love. Each other. I am deeply grateful for what is being built here; and I am excited to see what’s to unravel. So incredibly beautiful.

One of the warmest, most love-filled, most fun places in Brooklyn if not the whole world! In a big city like NYC, Lightning is a place that always feels like home. Open mic salons, rooftop parties, and workshops for wellness and arts - you will always find a good time here! Sometimes too good of a time

An incredible place which regularly brings and incredible and warm crowd. If you come you will walk away with a new friend. They call themselves a community center and they mean it. This is the most genuinely 5 star review I've ever left for a place.

So good you may never leave moved in thinking it was a temporary pandemic housing situation, left two years and many deep quality conversations later. Extraordinary, warm group of people.

The Lightning Salon is an amazing warm container for all those performing and for the audience. I left last nights show so lit up with good vibes I couldn’t sleep. I met some really great new friends and laughed and teared up with an intimate group of people willing to share their creativity completely.

So in sum, go to the Lightning Salon to feel good, make friends, and experience raw performance. Don’t go to the Lightning Salon if you want to sleep. It’s horrible for that.

Lightning Society is one of the most magical finding of my life! The community is unique, full of people from all sorts of backgrounds and places from Earth with whom I have shared some of my most beautiful moments in this city. It has opened so many doors to new connections and ideas that I am forever grateful to this sparkling paradise hidden in a (tastefully) decorated factory in the middle of Brooklyn.

One of my favorite places in New York! Beautiful space and very welcoming community. It helped me make so many friends when I was new to the city. And, when their friends are struggling with family, health or finances, I’ve seen the leadership rally their community to help. I highly recommend it!
